- You can't ignore my texts all the time Hyun.
- I miss you...
- Just because I'm being nice to you doesn't mean you get to ignore me on.
- You have two weeks to make your decision.
Hyunsoo threw her phone on the bed, her head had started to hurt from the dozes of booze she had been taking in to forget about how sad she was. She couldn't even walk straight and all she wanted was a good night's sleep before finally going to her office tomorrow for the grand inauguration. The magazine was to be published and be represented all over the world and she had to be mentally ready for it.
She lied down on her bed, mind full of thoughts as she struggled to fall asleep. The morning was just as hard to survive, her headaches got the best of her. She was moody all along with her period cramps and she took a moment to remind herself that she wasn't a teenager anymore, she was a woman and she needed to take pride in that. Building up her usual confidence the girl smiled as she looked at her reflection on the vertically long mirror. She looked at her phone for a second before making the right decision, she looked through her recent contacts and blocked Wontaek's number.
A breath of relief left her when she did so, a smile conquering her face after it.
The slight headache at the back of her head needed to be ignored for the next few hours, she wrapped herself in a beautiful and formal outfit before getting done with some final touchups and leaving her house. She texted Kim before leaving for the Agency and as she reached, her eyes widened to see the crowd outside the building, deja vu kicked in and guards stood by her car door before she could step feet out.
They guide her along the screaming crowd and Hyunsoo sent a small smile to everyone she made eye contact with.
"Thank you," she said to the guards before walking in, bowing to a number of media reporters and finally seeing Kim in a three piece suit.
The little ceremony felt like it was done in no time, minutes turned to hours and Hyunsoo was dying to head back home.
"Ms. Ji, what do you feel about all of this fame?" One reporter yelled along with the crowd catching her attention.
"You don't need to respond to anyone dear," Kim whispered to her and she nod her head.
"Did you speak to Renjun at all this week?" Kim asked Hyunsoo as they seated themselves away from most of the people. The evening had tired her out but at the mention of his name Hyunsoo's ears perked.
"Why? Is there a problem?" She asked and Hyunsoo pursed his lips in confusion.
"I tried reaching him for a while but he never picked up, then I tried again before the ceremony and asked him to join us too but he said that he was busy," Kim said and Hyunsoo nodded, knowing exactly why the boy chose not to come and guilt ate her up again.
"Don't think too much about it okay, it's just, you seemed to get along with someone after a while so I thought maybe you'd know what was up with him, he never rejected me before," Kim said, his voice sounding melancholic.
"Don't worry Kim, maybe he wasn't feeling too good?" Hyunsoo tried to make him feel better but the older man only nod before giving her a small smile.
"Is it okay for me to leave now?" Hyunsoo asked.
"Yes, the first copy of the magazine will be sent to you," he reminded and Hyunsoo smiled before bowing and leaving the place.
Hyunsoo felt at peace even if it was just for a bit, after having blocked Wontaek he didn't bother her as much and so Hyunsoo felt safe for the timebeing. The next day there was another welcoming party but Hyunsoo had enough, grand celebrations were sponsored by various businessmen but Hyunsoo never attended any, she didn't contact anyone and let herself drown in her worries, the girl locked herself in her house not wanting any more trouble from Wontaek.
It had already passed a week and all Hyunsoo did was drink and sleep, she knew she was tarnishing herself this way but atleast no one else knew about it. There were many texts from Kim asking her why she wasn't attending parties that were thrown for her, the older man even asked her if she was okay as she never behaved this way before but there weren't any responses whatsoever.
Renjun maintained his distance that one week, he too was cooped up in his room. He heard of the success Hyunsoo earned through television and just media overall.
He heard his phone ring making him raise an eyebrow, he specifically told Kim he wouldn't be doing portraits for a short while.
"What's wrong?" He said first thing when answering the phone.
"You're asking me? A month ago you and Hyunsoo were befriending each other and now all of a sudden neither you are moving around, what's been going on?" Kim asked, just by the man's voice Renjun could tell he was worried.
"What do you mean?" Renjun asked, sitting up on his bed.
"Hyunsoo, she hasn't been herself lately," Kim complained and Renjun frowned on the other side of the phone.
"Why are you telling me this?" Renjun asked, clearly not being able to understand what he meant.
"Both of you don't know anyone personally out of business, I thought you two were finally making friends and now neither of you are showing up, Hyunsoo hasn't shown up for a single event in the last week," Kim said and Renjun wondered what was wrong.
"I've tried reaching her all I can, try reaching her too, and if there's a problem between you two, fix it, you two aren't kids anymore." Kim said and hung up on Renjun.
