Renjun didn't know how to respond to the current situation, he knew he apologized but at the same time it wasn't like he heard her accepting his apology, things were a mess and Renjun felt tired just thinking about all of it, he never had to deal with someone like this before and her being the first made him feel things he never had before.
He couldn't even tell the difference between care and frustration. Ruffling his hair he first decided to ring her number. The dial tone sounded for a while before the call stopped connecting. He tried again but received the same result. Renjun was contemplating with himself once again, he didn't want to fight with her.
'If she's mad, I'll just leave.' he told himself before leaving a text message.
Hyunsoo walked around her house, sober she was but her actions were purely out of instinct. She didn't know what to do, here she was trying to build her career and there Wontaek wanted to ruin it just like that, she had another week to decide what was to happen and deep in her mind her wish was to run away, she didn't want to give away her hard earned money like that, neither did she want to sell herself off to him. She didn't want to have any relation with that man ever again and the very thought of it made her mad, she swept her hand across the countless souvenirs dropping them on the floor.
While some of them only dropped down, some of them broke, glass pieces sprawled on the floor but none of it mattered with the rage that took over her headspace. Hyunsoo shakily breathed out, she wanted to go back to her room till her feet stepped on one of the glass pieces, the girl winced before tears brimmed her eyes as she walked all the way to her room.
Renjun drove to her house, it had been a week since they last met and he was scared she would reject him again. He didn't want that, not one bit. He parked right in front of the house, his eyebrows frowning when he saw the lights all turned off from the outside, the sun had set and it was simply suspicious.
'She hasn't been herself lately' he remembered Kim's words and a little panic rose in him. He knew her to be sensitive and his only hope was that she hadn't done anything stupid.
He rung the doorbell and knocked on the door, not a single voice heard from the other side of the door and he started regretting ignoring her text messages.
"Hyunsoo!" He yelled and knocked the door, eyes widening when he clearly heard glass shattering on the other side of the door. Renjun didnt know what to do and so he skipped backwards. He knew where her room was inside the house and so he ran around searching for the right window. He tried seeing in through the curtains only to shake his head at his own foolishness.
He tried knocking on the glass but there was no response, he tried pushing the window only to see that it wasn't even locked.
He struggled to climb but he did his best, he pushed the window and the first thing he noticed were the footprints covered in blood. He in fact wasn't able to decipher the window to her room but a bit further. Glass pieces all on the floor, Renjun made sure to lock the window secure once he was inside the house and he gulped seeing the damaged souvenirs.
He bent down to have a closer look at the blood and he knew that was fresh making his fears worsen.
"Hyunsoo," he yelled and jogged to her room. At the far end he saw her seated down a corner of the room. She had her face covered but he could see her shaking. She looked nothing like the woman he knew her to be. He shakily breathed out and only then realised.
His sketch on the wall couldn't have been what brought her to this point.
He walked towards her, now seeing blood flow out the soles of her feet.
"Hyunsoo," he gently called out, trying to reach her hands but she pulled away, the girl had her head down still. She shivered in fright while Renjun felt guilty for having left her on her own the week before.
"It's me, Renjun," he whispered and held her hands, tightening his hold comfortingly to make her feel better.
The girl lifted her head slowly, her eyes bloodshot as tears never stopped dripping down, lips quivering and knowing her personality Renjun felt mad at whatever it was that brought her to this extreme. At the given moment he chose to push his anger away and did what he thought was right.
He hugged her, despite the blood around her cut feet, he hugged her, letting her stain him and Hyunsoo finally felt what she needed most. She was quick to wrap her arms around him and her head fell on his shoulders. Renjun though immensely flustered rubbed his palm on the back of her head, he hugged her tighter till he heard her crying soften and felt her shivering fade away.
