Renjun drove with no care, the streets weren't too full and the sky was a greyish blue and maybe that was the only thing that really calmed him down even if at the slightest, he was devoid of any emotions as he sped his way along the roads, unaware of where he was taking himself. He was adamant, not wanting to believe that maybe, just maybe he liked the girl. He tightened his jaw just remembering what happened minutes ago, Renjun didn't know if what he heard was the truth but it still hurt him regardless.
He didn't want to assume things about her and so he simply set to nowhere to clear his mind of anything that he felt could harm another person. His directions brought him to a beach, the waters shined bright under the moonlight as he drove for hours to reach there. He stopped once one of the wheels of his car got sunk under sand, he tried speeding in an attempt to get off the sand only to his dismay. He whined in frustration, head hitting the steering wheel.
Words from Kim, the lady he met that morning, Minho, all of them haunted his memory as he tried to forget about the girl for a few minutes. He shut his eyes, letting him get carried away by sleep.
Hyunsoo had been on her bed still, the bleeding had stopped by now, she wasn't in pain anymore either, he had barely touched her in comparison to all he did before, while they were still together. She closed her eyes in disgust, promising herself to never think about Wontaek ever again. She fought herself to get off the bed only when she saw just how dark it was outside. She was confused about Renjun's whereabouts, in a way worried about him.
She didn't even know about him coming to the house, still in a little daze as she walked out of her bed, legs wobbly as she had been lying in the same position for a while, her hair was all messed up and tears still stained her cheeks, she laughed just at the though, what if Elle were to see her in this condition, would they still be this proud?
She searched for her phone till she saw it on the floor.
Her hands picked them up and quickly searched for Renjun's contact, he never stayed out this late and Hyunsoo couldn't help the fear of Wontaek harming the younger boy. Even after a few rings, Renjun never picked up. Everytime the call connected, she only heard how his phone was switched off. Disappointed, she chose to wait.
Even when she was in a miserable state, she was worried about him.
Hyunsoo made sure the door was left unlocked so Renjun could come in freely. She had to get herself and parts of the house cleaned up. She fixed some of the things that were sprawled around and soon left for her room, she locked herself in the bathroom and readied the water for a much needed hot shower.
The girl stripped herself down, wincing slightly as her muscles hurted bad, she looked at herself in the mirror, bloodstains around her cheeks which she quickly wiped away, the cut on her forehead was still very fresh, it would take a while to heal and she knew she could hide it under some of her hair.
The hot shower made her realise just how much pain she was really in, the hickey on her neck didn't leave no matter how much she rubbed it with soap. A cry left her mouth before she regained herself and stepped out of the shower once she was done.
Renjun still wasn't back and it was at least 9 PM from what she knew, she was worried and the fact that he hadn't picked his phone neither answered his texts made her feel desperate.
She called up Kim and waited for him to answer.
"Hello?" Kim said and Hyunsoo thanked the Gods that the man responded.
"Kim, is Renjun with you? Any portraits that were due today, anything?" She asked and after a second of thought Kim responded.
"I thought you two were together," he said and Hyunsoo gulped.
"Why do you sound afraid?" Kim asked and Hyunsoo wondered if she should speak to Kim when Wontaek clearly told her not to.
"He was here," just by the low voice, Kim knew who she was talking about.
"Are you okay?" Kim asked and Hyunsoo bit her lip in thought.
"Mhm," she replied, not wanting to lie to the man who helped her through a lot.
"You're off work for a few days so there's nothing you need to be worried about when it comes to work, I'll talk to Renjun till then,"
"Just let me know if he's okay," Hyunsoo said.
She waited patiently for Kim's text, the house looked dull and lonely as she rested her head on the table, looking at her phone the whole while hoping for a notification.
It finally happened and she was quick to look at her phone.
-He's okay
- He said that he wouldn't be there for a while and that you should take care of yourself for a while since he's not there
At the words Hyunsoo felt her worries only largen.
She tried calling the boy again but instead of letting it ring till it gets disconnected, Renjun rejected the call. She didn't know what she had done for him to act this way and that made her anxious.
Hyunsoo chose to just adhere for the timebeing, she chose to wait for him.
