"First idol," Hyunsoo read out the first question for them both to answer and Renjun bit the inside of his lips as he had way too many idols during his painting career.
"Marilyn Monroe for me," Hyunsoo answered first while Renjun was still deep in thought.
"Van Gogh?" Renjun said, more like questioned and looked up at her making her hide a grin.
"Are you asking me Mr. Hwang?" Hyunsoo asked and Renjun shrugged.
"Favorite cartoon?"
"Chip and Dale," Hyunsoo answered.
"Mickey Mouse," Renjun answered and Hyunsoo looked at him surprised.
"Hmm, Favorite movie?" The next question read and this time Renjun pursed his lips.
"Titanic for me," Hyunsoo said and smiled as she looked at Renjun to hear his answer.
"Umm," Renjun started and Hyunsoo's smile dropped watching him contemplate.
"Hey," she called out soothingly and he finally looked up at her and right when they met eyes he looked away.
"I never really watched movies," Renjun asked looking away from her and it was quiet for a few seconds. The tensions made Renjun overthink quite a bit. Was she gonna see him as weird like everyone else did?
What shocked the younger boy was when Hyunsoo pushed the surface of her palms on his cheeks, squishing them slightly as she got him to look at her.
"Why didn't you tell me this earlier? I was almost gonna have a nervous breakdown thinking what you would like to do when we hangout."
Renjun could only stare at her happy face as she spoke surprised to the fullest, it itched the corners of his lips to smile but he held it in.
"The next time we're free I'm taking you to watch my favorite movie," Hyunsoo said and left his cheeks before going to pick her phone to read the next few questions.
Just for a moment, Renjun thought of whatever was happening between them practically and he chose to confront her about it.
"Is it really okay," Renjun started making the girl look up at him.
"Us hanging out like this, it's not like we're normal citizens, there's paparazzis that love a good headline, I just don't wanna end up being the reason you're criticised for," Renjun said honestly, he stared into her eyes as he spoke.
"Do you not want to be seen with me?" Hyunsoo asked back.
"More than that I just don't want to see kids like those talk trash about you when they don't even know you."
This was one thing about the two, they were blunt.
"That's sweet of you," Hyunsoo said and smiled once again and Renjun could only imagine how long she'd been through such mockery on her own that she'd become numb to it and only looked at the brighter side of life, it intrigued him in a way he couldn't explain.
"Say, let's ditch the questions for now, instead of reading questions off a screen, let's ask each other whatever it is we wanna know," Hyunsoo suggested and Renjun nod in agreement.
"For starters, we can watch a movie and-" before Hyunsoo could finish her sentence, her phone rung, making the girl give Renjun an apologetic smile but he motioned for her to attend the call freely.
"Oh, no worries, I'll be there," Hyunsoo answered and disconnected, before she could say anything to Renjun, his phone rung as well.
"Done," he ended and looked at Hyunsoo.
"I need to go for a shoot, I should be done by 6 PM though," Hyunsoo said.
"I've got another client but there's still time, I've got till the end of the week to submit the portrait," Renjun said.
"Well, you can come over to my house if you're not tired, I'm done by 6 anyway so you can be there by 7?" Hyunsoo asked and Renjun left a small chuckle.
"And what do you suggest we do?" Renjun asked.
"You did say you've never watched a movie before, and what's better than starting with the classic, we're watching Titanic," Hyunsoo said, excitement quite clear in her voice.
'Gets attached quickly' Renjun noticed another fact about her. The girl got up, holding onto her portrait from Renjun and sliding on her heels as the park started to get crowded.
"Should I bring anything over? Like food I mean," Renjun asked as he never had been in a situation as such before.
"Just bring your presence there, that would be more than enough," Hyunsoo said before leaving him there, she waved a little bye when she reached the gates and Renjun simply bowed in response.
It was a new feeling to Renjun, her last words before she left the garden hung around him for a while, he had his head down as a blush crept around his ears. No one had spoken to him this way and so he didn't know how to think of it. He chose to simply follow her lead as for the first time he was breaking through a normal business like relationship. Maybe a friend, he thought but only time would tell. He looked around the park where children ran around, laughing their hearts out and Renjun slowly walked out of there, not expecting how his life was gonna be in a few days.
