I laugh as the word Fatality appears on the screen and Stiles groans. I watch as he dramatically falls back onto my floor stretching out. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just going to take a break." I laugh and press pause on my PS4 controller. I pick my phone up and check the time realizing that it's almost midnight. "Stiles, I think it's time for you to go home." He's silent for a minute and I hear Ellie meow before curling up at the edge of my bed.

I look back at Stiles and criss cross my legs. "Stiles, do you not want to go home?"

"It's not that I don't want to go home I just don't want to sleep."

"Why?"

"I keep getting sleep paralysis. And I have these dreams where I literally have to scream myself awake. It's not fun."

"Doesn't sound fun at all. I could stay up with you if you want?" I ask, absentmindedly messing with my necklace. "We have school tomorrow. I can't do that to you. I'll go home."

"You sure?" I ask and he nods pushing himself to his feet. "I'll see you tomorrow, Melody."

"See you," I say and watch as he leaves my room. I turn off my PS4 and stand up heading to my closet and pulling out sleep wear. A white camisole and pajama shorts. After I pull them on I turn off my light, closing my door. I lift up my blanket and slip under the covers.

Ellie meows before crawling over to me and curling up against my stomach. I rest my head against my pillow and close my eyes allowing sleep to take me.

"Melody? Melody! Come on! Open your eyes! Please." I open my eyes and look up into Stiles' brown ones. He smiles sadly and tears fill his eyes as he pulls me to him in a hug.

I jolt and awake practically throwing Ellie off me and she yowls in terror at my sudden movement. "It's Stiles?!" I reach blindly for my phone and press the home button. The light comes on blinding me for a second before I can make out the time. It's 3 in the morning.

I sigh and swipe open my phone going to my contacts and pressing the S at the edge of the screen taking me to the contacts that start with S. I scroll through until I find Stiles name and press it. I start typing my message and then press send.

You up?

I wait patiently and eventually see the dots that mean he's typing.

Yeah. You okay?

I'm alright.
Just had a weird dream.
Thought you might be up.

I've been up since 1
Um, mind just calling me?

Sure.

I press the phone button and hold it up to my ear listening to it ring. "I'm here."

"Hey."

"God, it's good to hear a voice other than my own." I laugh lightly and rub sleep from my eye. "I wasn't sure if you were going to respond."

"Well, if you need me hopefully I'll always respond." I smile and lay back against my pillows. We talk for the rest of the night and even fall asleep on the phone with each other, it was almost like he was here with me. It was nice.

I wake up to the sound of knocking and open my eyes as the door opens. My mom peeks her head inside. "Hey, I'm going. Get your butt to school." I nod and she closes the door. I push myself up and feel my phone slip from my hand. I pick it up and tap the screen making it light up. The phone call was still going the length was at 4 hours and 10 minutes.
