I'm sitting beside Kira while she's reading, resting my head against her shoulder with my eyes closed, we both have earbuds in and are listening to music. I'm dozing a little bit when Kira starts shaking me. I open my eyes and see Coach staring down at us with a confused and frustrated look.

We both take our earbuds out and hear the fire alarm blaring. "How loud are you playing those things? Let's go! Get the hell out of here!" Kira gets up and she and Finstock help me to my feet, handing me my crutches. I limp after Kira and out of the school, looking around in bewilderment.

I can't wait for my last soak and to finally get rid of these crutches. "You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," I say to her and run my fingers through my hair. Stiles comes running up to us and is panting when he stops. "You guys okay?"

"Yeah."

"Are you?" I ask him, laughing slightly and he straightens up. "Totally good. Um, do you want to ride with me or?"

"Oh, sure. I walked here again so I'll just ride with you. Bye, Kira see you tomorrow," I say wrapping one arm around her and waving goodbye after pulling away. "Have fun," she says playfully and I shake my head. Stiles grabs my backpack from her and I smile. "Thanks." He nods and I look around at all the students.

"What's with all the excitement," I ask when we reach his Jeep and he opens the door for me. "Oh, um, William Barrow was spotted near here."

"Who's William Barrow?" I ask as he closes the door and goes around to the driver's side, getting in. "William Barrow is a shrapnel bomber who was arrested a few years ago and he escaped a couple hours ago."

"Wow, this town just keeps getting better and better doesn't it?" He starts the car and begins driving home. We chat a little as he drives and eventually pull up to his house. "Nice house," I say as he turns off the car and gets out. "Thanks." He closes the door and comes around to my side, opening it and helping me out.

I grab my crutches and he grabs my bag. He walks ahead and opens the front door for me. "Such a gentleman," I say and he smiles as I enter. "There's some soda and pizza in the fridge if you're hungry." I nod and he hangs my bag on the back of a chair.

I sit down at the table and he begins pulling out two cans of mountain dew, as well as a box of pizza. I watch him as he puts two pieces of pizza on a plate and cook it in the microwave. I open my can and take a drink from it. When the pizza is done Stiles sits down beside me and we eat.

When we're done Stiles gets up and places the dishes in the sink. "Stiles are you alright? You're less sarcastic than usual." He laughs but it sounds almost nervous. "I'm fine," he says before heading up the stairs and I carefully follow after him. I follow him down the hall and into his room, my eyes are immediately drawn to the crime board he has on his wall.

"Wow, you really are the Sheriff's son aren't you?" He smiles and I lean my crutches against the wall and sit down on his bed watching him work with fascination. I glance down at the different bundles of string on his bed. "What do the different colored strings mean?"

"Oh, just different stages of the investigation. So, green is solved, yellow is to be determined, blue's just pretty," he says and I smile in amusement. "What does red mean?" I ask as it's all over the board.

"Unsolved."

"You only have red on the board."

"Yes, I'm aware. Thank you." I lay down and stretch out my legs. I hear Stiles sigh and I look over to see him biting down on his sharpie's cap. I sit up and scratch at the edge of my eyebrow. "Stiles, what's wrong? And don't say you're fine because I know you're not."
