I'm leaning against my dad's desk when the door opens and my dad comes in. "We got an APB out on Lydia's car. Every unit on the road is looking for her."

"Isn't there anything else that we could do?"

"At this hour? No, not really."

"He took her for a reason, Dad. Look, if we can figure out the why, then we'll figure out the where."

"Okay," he looks back to make sure no one is within earshot before turning back to us. "What would a nogitsune need with a banshee?"

"I don't know, Lydia's pretty good at finding dead bodies. Maybe he needs to find a body?"

"Scott, you know more about this than all of us."

"Me?"

"You said you got the whole story from Noshiko?"

"Yeah, but that happened during World War II. Like 70 years ago." An idea suddenly pops into my head. "Wait. What did you say?"

"Noshiko told me about the internment camp..."

"No, before that. You said, the whole story."

"Yeah. What is it?" Scott asks and I suddenly remember Meredith from Eichen.

"I should tell them. They're going to want to know the story. The whole story."

"There's a girl at Eichen House. Her name's Meredith. I think she might be able to help," I say looking up at my dad. Dad asks Parrish to call Eichen to see if Meredith is still there. "Sheriff," he calls after a few minutes and comes up to the door. "Meredith Walker."

"She's still there?"

"Yeah, but they moved her to the Closed Unit."

"Why?" I ask and he looks at me. "They said behavioral issues."

"What issues?"

"She wouldn't stop screaming." My dad leaves to go check on her and we stay behind. Scott's phone vibrates and he looks down at it. "It's a message from Kira." I look at him and walk over. "She says that Melody is still asleep. They're going to do some tests on her later in the day. Make sure she doesn't have any brain damage. But her mom says it's okay for her friends to stop by."

The minute I hear the word brain damage I flinch. "Now might be the perfect time to see her, Stiles." I look up into his eyes feeling mine sting slightly and nod. "Okay."

"Really?" I nod again and we leave. I get on behind Scott and pull on the helmet he offers. Scott starts up his bike and takes off. I wrap my arms tightly around his waist as the aching pain in my body intensifies. The cold, sharp wind slices through the jacket and hoodie that Scott lent to me.

A small shiver goes through me and I try my hardest to ignore it. Soon Scott pulls up outside the hospital and once he parks I get off. I pull his helmet off my head and set it down on the seat. We enter the building and go to the room number Kira sent to us. I see we were a few rooms away, but before we reach it Loralie comes out, maybe to go to the bathroom or get food and drinks.

Whatever she was about to do was abandoned when she sees us. Her eyes widen before hatred fills them and she rushes up to us, pointing accusingly at me, and I don't move away. "You! There is no way I'm letting you anywhere near my daughter!" She shouts and visitors and patients turn to stare.

"Miss Marina," Scott tries but she doesn't let him finish. "You've put your hands to my daughter once already. And I forgave you because Melody did. But then you put her in that hospital room! And you have the nerve to stroll in here? Well, it'll be a cold day in hell before I let you anywhere near her ever again!"
