Fumiko was stressed out and getting upset. She was sitting at her desk in her room writing homecoming proposal ideas and scratching them out furiously with her pen.Fumiko got up and decided she was going to take a break until she got an idea."That's it! Why didn't I think of that sooner?"Fumiko asked herself, thankful for the sudden burst of genius ideas she had gotten.
Fumiko was going to write Aiyana a poem regarding the theme of the Homecoming Dance this year:The Sun,The Moon, and The Stars. She was going to ask Aiyana to be the sunshine to her moonlight and to be her date to the homecoming dance.Fumiko knew she was being was probably getting hopes up too high, but she wanted to let her dream a little.
She went over to her bed and took a cardboard poster board from underneath her bed.Fumiko left it on the floor as she went to get a pack of markers, some gold and white paint with paintbrushes, some decorative midnight blue border sticker adhesive, some glitter letter stickers, and a cup of water from the art supply room in the mansion.
"Maybe instead of adhesive tape,I could line the border of the cardboard poster with yellow stringlights."Fumiko thought to herself with her hand on her chin, engrossed in her own thoughts as she down the hall to the art supply room.
"That way I can use a remote control to turn on the lights, which would be bright enough to cast a sun-like glow on Aiyana when she steps outside her house."Fumiko continued to think and strategize, planning on revealing her promposal at night so the lights would be the brightest thing shining on Aiyana when she asked her to the homecoming dance.Fumiko started thinking some more about how she could make her promposal to Aiyana even better and she stopped dead in her tracks when she got a "bright" idea.
She could take a string of yellow lights & attach them from her driveway to her front door and the top part of the roof just above her door. Not only would Aiyana would be overwhelmed with happiness,it wouldn't be much work on her part either.Fumiko was actually enjoying herself planning the promposal and getting ready for the homecoming dance. She made her way into the art supply room and took an abundance of everything she needed with the intention of having more than enough to make her poster & attach the yellow lights on the poster and at Aiyana's house.
Fumiko returned to her room and took out a piece of yellow construction to match the yellow aesthetic of the cardboard poster. She proceeded to write the poem she planned to read to Aiyana as the yellow lights shined on the both of them. The poem was a little sappy, but that's what Fumiko was going for.Sappy yet sweet and sentimental.
Sunshine and Moonlight
I light up your your night, you light up
my dayWill you be my sunshine and chase
the rainclouds away?At night,I'm your moonlight that keeps the nightmares bay
Will you come join me dance on October the eighth?
Together,we're a force that cannot be stopped...The night we join forces seems like fate,so you should give it a chance
Will you be my date to the homecoming dance? ~Fumiko C.
Fumiko glued the construction paper poem to the cardboard poster and admired the pretty turquoise color she wrote her poem in.Next, she took the golden letter stickers and spelled on "Be My Sunshine" on each of the three top spaces of the cardboard poster. Then,Fumiko decided to draw a little cute picture of her and Aiyana in their homecoming dresses with marker on the right side of the cardboard poster.
Lastly, she took the yellow stringlights and attached them to the borders of the cardboard poster while painting some more cute doodles. She painted some flowers in different colors near the corners of the poster, adding green vines under them to make the flowers more detailed.Fumiko thought the flowers were symbolic because Aiyana's name means blossoming or eternal flower in Native American.
That didn't come to Fumiko's mind until she thought about Aiyana's name. The flower paintings felt even more special and symbolic to her after realizing the connection they had to Aiyana's name.Fumiko took the remaining art supplies back to the art room, putting everything in the box back on the table with the exception of the extra yellow stringlights.
That's when something colorful caught her eye,a pack of rainbow stickers just sitting on the table.Fumiko decided to take them and put a few of the rainbow stickers on the poster in specific spots, hoping Aiyana might catch the subtle nods at her romantic feelings for her.
Even if she didn't get the subtle innuendo,Fumiko understood what it meant and it was still a special yet subtle way to inch her feelings for Aiyana closer and closer to the surface.
