Jennie

It was finally the day where Prom 2020 would commence. After the incident where Chanyeol asked me to prom, we exchanged numbers to contact each other. Not only that, I received very sweet messages from him every now and then.

One of his messages for today says,

Good morning beautiful!
Everyday I see your smile, I am thankful!
Can't wait to see you tonight ;)

I smiled as I read it.

I suddenly flinched in surprise as someone close my locker loudly than intended. Looking at who it was, I rolled my eyes at how she looked at me. Smirking with a playful look, Jisoo made her presence known.

"And here I thought you wouldn't be interested." She stated and all I could do was roll my eyes on her. "So what do you think of Mr. Park?"

"He's actually kind of nice. He tends to be sweet at times?" She flashed me a questioning look. "Ok maybe a lot of times."

"And how do you feel about it?" I just shrug my shoulders. "There is nothing there I guess. His actions are quite surprising but it seems platonic to me."

"You surely are one picky girl Jennie Kim."

"It's not that I'm picky. It's just that I couldn't feel the giddy feeling that I am searching for. I mean I'm sure you have felt that with Rosie, right?" She chuckled before replying. "Ok you got me there. I guess your point is quite understandable especially in a commitment. Without strong feelings the relationship was truly not last that long."

And there I thought we were having a serious conversation but then true patted my back a little too hard before stating, "But here I thought you are quite dense. I have never begged you to be a sappy sappy hopeless romantic. What have you done with my best friend?"

I shoved her away, "Shut up Chu." But still she continued teasing me. We were both engrossed with a conversation that we had not noticed that Rosie was coming our way.

"What are you guys up to?" We turned looking at the direction of Jisoo's girlfriend with her arms both attached to her hips. "Nothing babe. We are just kidding around." And Rosie turned her gaze to me not believing her lover's words. "Jennie."

And knowing how she is, I decided to tell her the truth. "She was just teasing me Rosie especially because of the prom."

"Well speaking of prom are the rumors true?" As she asked the question, it was the exact same time that Lisa made her presence known standing behind her bestfriend after she greeted all of us. "What rumors are we talking about?" I asked pretending not to know what she was talking about.

"You know, Chanyeol asking you to be his partner and you agreeing to it?" I guess I had no choice but to answer it. "Yeah. It is true." And as those words left my mouth. I saw Rosie looking at Lisa worriedly. Did Rosie have any idea about what was going about Lisa and I? I thought.

I then looked at Lisa and saw how she had her fist clutched in the sides. What had her going all angry?

"Isn't that cool though babe? Our innocent little Jendeuk here secured a hot date for tonight." Jisoo jokingly asked not noticing how the atmosphere had change when I confirmed the on going rumors.

"It is. Looks like both of our bestfriends scored the hottest dates in school." And hearing those words I did not like where this conversation was going. "What do you mean babe?"

"Well Lisa here was asked by IU sunbaenim to be her date for tonight." I flashed a questioning look. I mean isn't it a given since they are both dating.

However, before I could ask the bell suddenly rung. "Well I guess we will see you guys later tonight." Jisoo stated.

And with that we waved our goodbyes. But I was hoping that Lisa would talk to me in her own accord despite my threat to her that we keep our distance from each other. But I guess she really does stick by the rules this time. How ironic.

I shook myself and focused on the lecture as Ms. Park had arrived.
