Jennie

The chirping of birds had awoken me from my slumber. I sat down in bed reminiscing the events from yesterday and that was when my tears eventually dropped.

I cannot believe how fate would be cruel towards me. Why would such thing happen repeatedly? My life is far from being admired unlike of others. While I was deep in my thought, I did not notice that the door was being opened. "Good morning." Upon hearing that voice, I glanced at the person and there stood Lisa with a tray on her hand containing variety of food. I immediately wiped my tears not wanting her to see my current state. "Good morning." I greeted back controlling my voice not wanting it to waver.

She then place the tray near the bed stand as she approached my way and to a seat at my bed. "How are you feeling question?" But before I could answer her question, I felt her hand wiping away my tears. "Why are you crying?" The question made me pull away from her not wanting to deal with this kind of confrontation. "Nothing. It was nothing." I denied. But she wouldn't bite my denial, instead, she cupped my face closer to hers wanting to see as tears flow through my eyes. "You know whether you deny everything still your eyes could not deny the pain of the memories that had happened from yesterday. So allow yourself to let go from that pain, and you could only do so if you share it with others. And that is why I am here, to listen."

And upon hearing those words from her, I could not stop myself from bursting into tears. And that was when I felt her arms engulfing me in an embrace I have yearned for so long.

"Lisa..." I hicked up. "I just feel so dirty for having encountered such situation again." I can't seem to find my voice as I wasn't able to explain what I truly felt at the moment. And Lisa being herself could only comfort me at times like this, a comfort that could calm me down so I just leaned into her touch wanting to succumb myself to her. "Everything will be alright, Jennie. It's just facing life. And don't worry about that guy, I will make sure he will have to face the consequences of his actions." And hearing those words from her brought relief to myself. "Thank you for everything." I muttered and that was the last thing I remembered as I once again drifted to sleep.

Knock Knock

Was the sound that had awoken me from my sleep. I looked at the clock and saw that it was already four in the afternoon. I looked at the bed side and there was the breakfast Lisa brought that was still untouched.

And yet again another pair of knocks was heard. Sighing I answered, "Come in." And my estranged father entered. "Good afternoon princess." He said to which I only nodded still not comfortable to be around him despite being his daughter. "I heard from Lisa that you were not feeling well." He said as he took his seat at my bed I scooted away from him leaving enough space. "Yes. Uhmm kinda had a headache. Luckily it is a weekend."

"I also heard that your step sister was the one who brought you home. Lisa said that the asshole ditched you last time." I should thank Lisa thoroughly for making an excuse that my father would buy. "Yeah." Was all I could mutter.

It was then when I felt ny dad tuck my hair to my ears and rub my cheek, that he asked, "What happened here?" I then checked my mirror and saw a faint plush of red somehow I sighed in relief as it did not bruised. "It must have been the way I slept that made my cheeks kinda red." I made as an excuse.

"Ok then. Freshen up and join us for dinner later okay?"

"Okay." He then kissed my forehead. His kiss lingered longer than necessary and as he pulled away I shivered weirdly. And with that he left as I prepared myself for dinner but also made sure that I atleast had a bite of what Lisa had prepared.
