[THE LAST DANCE]

Sometimes you have to take yourself out of situations that cause you emotional pain, Lyndsey hadn't spoken to anyone but Caroline and Bonnie in a while. She wasn't needed when it came to their supernatural situation at least that's what her assumption was when no one had called her. But just because they didn't need her doesn't mean she didn't need them.

One year anniversary's can go so many ways, they can be happy and celebrated, they can be a day to reflect and remember, or it can be a day that makes you want to stay at home and cry.

For Lynn it was the third choice, one year since the fire wasn't exactly why this day was so bad. It's because she hadn't heard her mother speak or move in a year.

"Hey bean, are you going to be alright? I can stay home with you, Lynds." Caroline was worried. Lynn had barely spoken about how she felt about this day coming up, the only reason Caroline knew it was taking a toll on her was due to the fact she heard soft sobs through the walls.

Will had called this morning to warn Caroline that she was not doing well, and that he had been on the phone with his sister all night.

Lyndsey trusted Caroline with everything she was, but she would never want to feel like a burden on her life. "No Care, go to school you have a dance to set up for!" Lynn encouraged her cousin.

"Are you coming?" Caroline asked.

Lyndsey fake smiled, "of course Care." Even though she was having a bad day, Lyndsey knew how much Caroline loved these and she would never miss one.

Caroline walked over to the bed bending down and bringing Lyndsey into a hug. "Call me if you need anything." She whispered softly.

Once she had left Lyndsey's room she quickly dialled the number of someone she would usually never call especially when it came to this kind of thing. "She needs you."

Everyone was at school and Lyndsey was lazily lying on the couch watching whatever was on tv, a bowl of cereal in hand. Her mind was foggy, but after crying all night she felt alright.

But the sound of knocking entered the room, she walked over to the door, her bunny slippers scuffing against the floor. She hoped that it was the one person she shouldn't want to see.

"Damon." She whispered as she saw him outside,

"Look I'm sorry Lyndsey." She knew he was serious due to his use of her full name.
