Lyndsey sat silently at the Mystic Grill, she wasn't in the mood to go home, all she wanted was some French fries and a nap. It was late and she had run away from Elijah.

When he held her she felt safe and loved, those emotions scared the living hell out of Lyndsey Rivers. She didn't want to love anyone, everyone she loved had left her in their own ways.

She rested her head on the table shoving food in her face, as she read the original journal entry from 1492, it was a name she knew oh too well.

England, 1492

Katerina Petrova was running and laughing, she felt happy and it was all thanks to Elijah Mikaelson.

"You have to chase me!" She yells and keeps running, Elijah chases after the young girl but stops abruptly causing a gorgeous laugh to escape the gorgeous girl.

"You're meant to catch me." Katerina giggled at the lord,

"But if I catch you, the game will be over." A genuine grin appeared on the man's face, for the first time in a long while.

"Thank you for entertaining me."

"You looked lonely inside, so I took pity on you." He smirked and watched as she sat down, her humanity was so pure and gorgeous to the vampire.

He was intrigued, living with vampires such as Klaus and Kol made him forget what having human emotions is like. But she was refreshing

The doppelgänger sighed before her angelic voice filled the space again "Klaus promised to spend the day with me, but he never returned home from the night."

Elijah felt pity for the girl, she didn't deserve what was coming for her, but Niklaus was his brother and he had to support him. "Yes, Klaus does not live by any rules but his own."

He took a seat beside her, putting all his focus into the replica of the women he once loved. "He is a very charming man. Hard for anyone to resist, I suppose." She was hesitant

"And yet..."

" I know not why he courts me. He seems to not care about me at all." She looked down to her palms a slight frown on her face.

"Many a union has been built on much less."

"Is it wrong to want more?" She looked at him, her face was hopeful but not sure at the same time, she wanted to feel loved.

"Do you have more with Trevor?" He asked in curiosity about her relationship with the fellow vampire. "Trevor believes that he loves me, but true love is not real unless it's returned. Do you agree?"

He looked at her, not knowing what to say but "I do not believe in love, Katerina."

"Lyndsey," she heard a male voice from above her, causing her to jump and direct her focus away from the story, she looked up to see the man she had run from earlier that night.
