When Lyndsey awoke, a terrible pounding sensation caused her head to throb in pain. Her eyes slowly started to open and were met with the white roof of her bedroom. She was safe in her home, in her bed, she took a moment to gain back full consciousness. Once she did the voice of a very irritated Caroline Forbes entered her ears.

Once Caroline was told about last night she refused to leave Lyndsey's side. Over the matter of months, her life had gone in a 360' but one thing did remain stable and that was her relationship with her cousin.

"Lyndsey Quinn Rivers, you better wake up." Caroline let out a deep sigh out of worry.

"Because if you don't then I'd have to die as well and I haven't even begun planning our funerals."

Lynn snorted at her comment blowing her cover as still being asleep, "oh thank god." Caroline grinned in relief, quickly tackling the brunette, and refused to let go. "Why does my eye-" Lyndsey went to ask but was cut off with a flashback of memories.

Everything that had happened that night flew back into her head, the decade dance, the costumes, the Salvatores, and lastly Klaus knocking her out. The things she's willing to do to protect someone she loves. Even though she was sitting in bed completely beat up all she could ask herself is if everyone was okay.

"Care is everyone alright? Are you alright? Did he hurt you?" Lyndsey started to ramble on with questions, scanning Caroline's face for any imperfections.

Her cousin took her hand sitting beside the bruised-up girl, "Lyndsey everyone's fine, you're the only one who was hurt." Caroline knew that if anything happened today Lynn would not hesitate to risk it all once again, she was reckless.

She let go of her breath that she didn't realize she was holding, "What about Klaus? Did we kill him?" She started to once again ask more questions until the blonde threw her hand over the top of her mouth.

"Lyndsey! For once just calm down alright." Caroline yelled getting her to stop,

She stopped panicking and her breathing went back to normal, "Bean all that matters is that you are alright. I've been so worried, Bonnie had called every hour to make sure you were still breathing."

"He just hit me, Caroline, I'm not that breakable." She defended, not wanting to feel weak and useless. The last thing Lynn wanted was to be benched for getting hurt.

The vampire rolled her eyes at the defensive actions,  she was the one person who never considered Lyndsey as a burden. "He's an original Lynn, we didn't know what he was capable of."

Lynn nodded embarrassed that she thought Caroline had the wrong intentions, "come here." Care sighed, bringing the brunette into her arms. "Everything will be fine."

Lyndsey's sleep was extremely restless, images of the Mikaelson family were replaying in her head. She couldn't figure out why but it's all she dreamt about, Caroline wouldn't leave her side and was there every time she woke up.
