Chapter 36

"You've always made him proud" I said kissing the top of her head
She ran around the room finding her clothes
Isabells POV
I ran around my room finding my clothes and pulled out a pair of nike pro spandex, a sports bra, black nike socks, and a volleyball shirt. I ran into the bathroom and as I changed I yelled out to Jack
"Hey Jack"
"Yess" he answered
"Can you look through my closet and look for my black backpack, the nike one ?" I asked
"Yeah" he yelled back
"Thank you"
I finished changing and put my hair up in a ponytail and washed my face.
I wasn't about to get all sweaty and wipe my face and smear my make up. That would be bad, so I just don't wear make up to practice.
I walk out and Jack hands me my backpack
"Thaaaannkk Youuuu" I say to him and kiss his cheek
"You're welcome" he tells me as I walk over to my bed and grab my slides from underneath the bed. I slip them on and go to my dresser and take my glasses off and put contacts in. I blink a couple of times and Dani walks in
"You ready to go" she asks
"Yes ma'am" i say making sure my court shoes, and knee pads are in my backpack. I go downstairs and walk out the door and we get into Dani's car. Jack decided to tag along and he got into the back. We jammed out to the radio the way there and lets just say I was pumped af. hahahahahaha.
We got to the gym and walked in. It was fucking huge. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL ! Dani and I put our stuff on and a few girls came up to us and introduced themselves.
"Hey I'm Amy and this is Lily. You two are new right ?" They asked
"Yeah we are. I'm Isabell and this is Dani" I told them
"Well we just wanted to welcome you to the team since most of us have been together for a few years we just wanted to make you girls feel welcome" Amy smiled
"Aw thank you. That means a lot ! We we scared nobody would like us" Dani said
"If any of the girls give you a problem let us know" Lily said
"C'mon lets get warmed up" Amy said motioning us over to the court
We smiled and walked over grabbed a ball and Dani and I started warming up. After we had our arms warmed we peppered until the coach called us over to tell is what we'd be doing.
The coach had Dani and I playing all positions to see what we were best at. (a/n I don't remember what position I had Dani in so just go with it)
She had Dani as a hitter and me playing Libero at the moment and Dani was killing it ! I was doing okay I guess. She switched us around again and this was the last position the one I've never played in my life.
"Isabell's now setter ladies and Dani is libero. Lets get this going" she yelled. We switched and I was nervous as hell. Amy was serving. She did her jump serve and the girl on the other side I think her name was Marissa passed it to the setter and she was really good Ally I think set it to Lily and she hit it over. Amy passed it to the wrong side and I ran to the other side of the court "MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE" i yelled quickly having to do a back set to our hitter. I mentally gave myself a pat on the back for getting the right as I quickly ran back to my position ready for the ball to come back over. I never knew how fun being a setter was. I loved it but I sucked so I know what I need to work on.
It went back and fourth until Marisa shanked it. The coach blew the whistle and we all ran over to her.
"Great Job today ladies" she told us as we all gave each other high fives
"I was very impressed with you two" she said pointing to Dani and I
"I like the way you set Isabell, you have nice hands" she told me
(Dont think dirty ya nasties)
"What position do you usually play" she asked both of us
"Libero" Dani answered
"Hitter" i answered
"You set a lot also dont you" she asked
"Nope. First time" i said to her
"Well be prepared to start. You're good" she said and then looked at Dani
"And you, start getting used to being a hitter and libero" she told Dani and Dani smiled and nodded
Practice ended about an hour later and I wiped my face getting the sweat off as I walked over to my backpack. I sat on the ground with Dani and she pulled her kneepads down
"Holy shit Dani ! You are washing those when we get back home !" I said scooting away as she laughed.
I took my shoes off then slid my kneepads off throwing them in my backpack putting my slides on and taking a drink of my water. I waited for Dani and we walked back over to Jack and he smiled when he saw us
"You never told me you were that good" he said
"Didn't think I was" I said shrugging my shoulders as we walked out
"Dani, Isabell !" I heard my name and turned around to see Amy and Lily walking over to us
"Can we get your number maybe we can hang out sometime ?" Amy asked
"Oh yeah totally" I said as i looked through my backpack I couldn't find it
"Babe have you seen my phone ?" i asked Jack and he walked over to me
"Yeah you gave it to me" he said laughing
"Oh can I have it real quick" I asked and he handed it to me
"Babe huh" Lily asked wiggling her eyebrows
"What ?" I asked as I handed Amy my phone taking hers
"You called him babe" she said laughing
"I did" i asked looking up with wide eyes
"Yeah are you not dating ?" She asked confused
"No, I mean, yes, no. I don't know its complicated" I sighed putting my number in
I gave her, her phone back and I got mine back. I traded numbers with Lily as well and Dani goes
"They might as well be dating" and I elbowed her in the side
"Ow" she said rubbing it
"We'll text you guys, see ya later" she said as she gave Dani her phone back as well
"Bye ladies. Great Job today by the way" Dani and I said at the same time and we looked at each other and laughed
"You too !" They called out I walked back over to Jack and jumped on his back
"Hey !" He said
"To the car !!" I said pointing ahead of him as I held on
"You're lucky I like you" He said as he ran to the car
