It Was Always You

What happened earlier was one of the happiest moment of my entire existence. I just can't believe I'm going to be a father soon! Different emotions stirred up such as genuine happiness, nervousness, excitement, and most especially, Mika and I feel very blessed with our little one.

Mika was discharged after an hour. Dra. Abellon reminded us of the meds she needs to intake, the do's and dont's, and her monthly check up.

"Love, I can't wait for them!" Mika uttered delightfully while we were inside our car on our way home. I got confused when she used 'them' to refer our child.

"Bakit 'them'? Di ba dapat 'him' o 'her'?"

She giggled and muttered, "Wala lang love, I can feel that they're twins."

"Ikaw talaga! Twins ba gusto mo?" I looked at her innocent and pure face. She simply nodded while grinning.

"If twins, sana boy and girl. Para di na ako ulit magbuntis!" Ayun naman pala ang gusto!

"Love, isang basketball team ang plano kong buuin? Paano ba yan? First 5 players tapos may sub pang 5?" I laughed and Mika punched my arm.

"Ikaw kaya magbuntis ng 9 months at manganak, ano?" She rolled her eyes.

"Joke lang naman love, sige pwede na yung first 5 players!" Mika once again punched my arm. I just love this girl so much!

"Kief, may naiisip ka ng names?" She asked me.

"Kung lalaki, junior!"

"Tss. Maka-luma ka talaga? Di na kaya uso yun ngayon!" Mika blurted."Daniel kaya ipangalan natin? Daniel John." She even added while her eyes glimmered.

"Eh?! Sa akin, ayaw mong ipangalan. Tapos sa idol mo, okay lang?! Wag ganun!"

After an hour of drive, we're finally home. As soon as Mika entered the house, she threw herself into the couch. I placed her head on my lap.

"Love, we need to tell our families about it." I told her and Mika flicked her smile and said,

"Yes, let's prepare a small gathering tomorrow night. Ako na lang tatawag sa Bulacan." She volunteered.

"I can't wait to see their reactions!" I need to sleep early because our training would be from 8 AM to 8PM.

Mika and I slept then. I already fell asleep for hours when I felt somebody poking my back.

"Love?" Mika called out. I shifted my body on the othet side of the bed.

"Love!!!" She repeatedly punched my arm that left me no choice but to get up.

"Mika naman, ano ba yun?" My voice became louder that time. Mika frowned and pouted her lips while her eyes became watery.

"I just wanted to  go down and eat." She blurted then heaved a sigh, "But, okay. I guess you're tired."

Mika went back to bed and turned her back against me. I felt a slight of guilt tickled my heart. So, I decided to stood up and grabbed her by the hand.

"Matitiis ba kita? Let's go." I told her and she obediently followed me.

"I feel like eating pomelo right now.." Mika seemed to put her thoughts into words out loud and so I heard her.

"Love, wala tayong mahahanap na pomelo ngayong 1 AM. Pwede bang ang i-crave mo naman yung posibleng makuha natin this time of the night." I explained to her but it seems like she did not listen to every word I spoke earlier.
