Kiefer Ravena

Morning training was already done. The team was having our lunch break when my phone rang. Jessey's name appeared on the caller ID.

"Hello? Jessey?" I answered the call but all I can hear from the other line was the siren of an ambulance.

"Kiefer, sinugod namin si Mika sa ospital. Dinugo kasi sya kanina." Jessey was nervously telling me those things.

"Ha?! Nasaan na kayo?" I was worried of what might happen to Mika and to our child.

"Pinasok na sa Emergency Room si Mika. Sa Medical City sya dinala." Jessey said.

"I'll be there in 10 minutes!" I hung up.

"Coach, I need to go. May nangyare pong aksidente sa asawa ko at kailangan nya ako dun." I pleaded before we started our afternoon training.

"Sige na, Ravena. You may go. Next time, double training ka sa drills ha! Mag-iingat ka." Coach spoke and so I rushed my way to Medical City. Good thing it was not that traffic that's why I got there on time.

"Kiefer, thank goodness you're here!" Jessey approached me and so is Kevin.

"Nasaan si Mika?" I hurriedly asked them.

"Nasa operating room na." Kevin replied. My mind was in a blur then I saw Trinca crying in the corner.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I wondered. She stood up then wiped her tears.

"Sorry, Kiefer. Hindi ko sinasadya.." That was all that she can say. I don't understand her.

"Ang tanong ko, bakit ka nandito?!" I shouted at her.

"Ako yung may gawa kung bakit naaksidente si Mika. Patawarin mo ako, Kiefer." Trinca knelt before me and held my arms. I pushed her away.

"Hindi mo ba alam na buntis sya?! Ha? Ngayon hindi lang buhay ni Mika yung nasa panganib, pati na rin yung magiging anak sana namin!!" Anger stirred up inside me that's why I shouted back at her.

"S-sorry! Sorry na." She covered her face.

"Maliligtas ba ng sorry mo yung buhay ng mag-ina ko?!" I was fuming mad. To be honest, I don't know how would I forgive Trinca if anything bad happens to Mika and our baby.

"Kiefer, please." Trinca said in between her sobs.

"Umalis ka na. Ayaw kitang makita." I uttered.

"Patawarin mo na ako. Sige na, Kiefer." She knelt again and pleaded.

"Umalis ka na bago pa kita masaktan!" Kevin helped her get up and ushered her out of the hospital. I messed my hair and sat on the waiting area. Jessey was also there with me.

"Relatives of Mrs. Ravena?" The doctor went out of the operating room.

"I'm her husband. Kamusta na po si Mika?" I rushed.

"I'm Dra. Santiago, the assigned doctor. Sa totoo lang, 50-50 ang buhay ng mag-iina mo. We were doing our best to save all of them." I was confused of what she said. Mag-iina?

"Doktora, pwede po bang pakiliwanag? Hindi ko po naintindihan. Mag-iina?" I replied.

"Hindi nyo po ba alam na kambal ang dinadala ng misis nyo? Fraternal twins na boy and girl. Sige po, babalik na lang ako mamaya." Dra. Santiago cleared it out. I was left dumbfounded after that.

I called my parents and informed them of what happened to Mika. They all went there to wait for her.

"Mr. Ravena?" After two hours, Dra. Santiago went out of the operating room.
