Mika Reyes

Fifth month of pregnancy and I guess things were doing good for me. No more throwing ups and sudden mood swings. Kiefer got used to my sudden cravings that's why he has provided everything that I want to eat.

"Love? Yes, I'm on my way to Jessey's place." Kiefer was on the other line.

"What? You're driving? Miks, stop the car or drop the call!" He dictated.

"No, I have my driver with me. Sige na. I'm here at Jessey's place." I dropped his call.

"Miss Mika, anong oras ho kayo magpapasundo?" Kuya Rey, my driver, asked.

"Itetext ko nalang po kayo. Sige po, ingat!" I told him and he left.

Jessey welcomed me to her unit warmly. She said that she would tell me something very important.

"Bf, nagpropose na sa akin si Kevin!!!" Jessey squealed.

"Waaaah! You're engage!" I jumped up and down with her.

"Girl, buntis ka. Dahan-dahan ha?!" So we sat first and Jessey told me everything about the proposal. Ako pala ang unang una niyang sinabihan.

"Saan punta natin ngayon?" I asked when we were already inside her car.

"Doon sa magiging business partner ni Kevin. Nandun rin kasi sya. Tapos saka tayo maglunch date." Jessey drove off. Later on, she stopped at a builing in Ortigas. I guess this is where Kevin works. While walking, I felt a sudden pain in my abdomen. I stopped walking.

"Bf, ayos ka lang?" Jessey asked me. I just nodded and said, "Baka cramps lang. Sige, tara na!"

Jessey and I entered a board room. There was Kevin and I think the other one was the business partner. The figure of the woman seated in front of Kevin looks familiar.

"Oh, there's my fiancé. Jessey de Leon!" Kevin stood up and offered the seat beside him to Jessey and I.

"Hi! Nice to meet you." Jessey offered her hand.

"Yes, I'm Trinca Del Tierro. Your business partner." I exchanged glances with Jessey. Trinca also looked at me and smiled devishly.

Jessey and I were not comfortable of what's happening since Jessey knew Trinca as Kiefer's ex. There's like a huge mass of awkwardness between the two of us. I barely moved nor spoke the whole time.

They were talking about merging the companies of Ferrer and Del Tierro. Jessey and I kept on exchanging glances during their meeting. Sa tingin palang kasi, parang nagkakaintindihan na kami.

"Excuse me, I need to use the washroom." I excused myself first. Jessey asked if I wanted her to come with me, but I said no.

I went out of the cubicle and Trinca was also inside the washroom. She was fixing herself while I was washing my hands.

"You were the ever famous Mika Reyes, right?" Trinca said without looking at me.

"Drop the word famous." I replied. She stopped putting on make up, crossed her arms, while staring at me. It made me feel awkward with her stares but I still stood up straight and did not mind her presence.

"You are the reason why Kiefer and I broke up." Trinca uttered bitterly. I did not listen to her nor say anything. I continued on what I was doing.

"Do you love him? Because if you'll ask me, I would kill anyone or anybody just to have Kiefer back." Trinca added. Again, I did not move nor say anything. I won't step down on her level.

Classy never trashy, Mika.

"You ruined our relationship. We were damn engage Mika!" She shouted at me and pulled my hand for me to face her. I was raised properly by my parents but I won't let this get away anymore. I was controlling my anger all this time.

"It's not me who ruined your relationship. I'm not the one who cheated on Kiefer anyways!" I answered in a "Beast mode don't care" way.

"I did not cheat on him! Arranged marriage ako nun sa isang business tycoon and I can't do anything about it!" Trinca raised her voice higher than mine.

"Well, wala na kaming kinalaman ni Kiefer sa kung anong meron ka ngayon. Kaya please lang, get lost!" I walked away from her because I don't want to make a fuss about this.

"Hindi pa tayo tapos mag-usap!" Trinca followed me outside the washroom and this time, she aggressively pulled my hand again.

"Let me go! Nasasaktan ako! Ano ba?!" I got myself out of her grip and I grabbed the chance to walk away from her again.

"Inagaw mo sa akin si Kiefer! Walang hiya ka!" Trinca slapped my cheek then she pulled my hair that made me off balanced.

"Trinca, tumigil ka na!!! Masakit!" I kept on shouting at her but she was stronger than me. Her hands were still strangling my hair when I felt the lining of my uterus tighten.

"Hindi ako titigil hanggang sa hindi ka nawawala sa buhay ni Kiefer, naiintindihan mo?" She was still pulling my hair back and forth and I can't stop her because I'm getting weaker and weaker.

"Trinca, nagmamakaawa ako sayo. Tigilan mo na ako!" I was shouting for my dear life but it seems that Trinca was not able to hear anything.

"Mika? Trinca?" Thank God Jessey and Kevin saw us. She pulled me away from Trinca while Kevin held Trinca.

"Trinca, tumigil ka nga! Look at yourself!" Jessey said. Trinca and I were catching our breath. My tears began forming in my eyes because of the abdominal cramp I was feeling right now.

"No. Nothing can stop me, not even you Mika." Trinca got out of the grip of Kevin and went straight at me. She pushed me twice but then when she pushed me again, I stumbled on the floor. I held tight of my abdomen, instinctively protecting my child.

"Aaaaaaah!" I cried when I saw a streak of blood was flowing through my legs. Trinca did not know what to do nor Jessey.

"Mika, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" Trinca was in her knees, crying out loud, and holding my hand.

"Tumawag kayo ng ambulansya bilis!" Kevin said and Jessey dialled in her phone. It felt like I'm losing a lot of blood. I don't want to lose my child, dear God.

"Mika? Stay with us!" Jessey kept on telling me those things after they carried me inside the ambulance. That was the last thing I knew before everything went black.
