It Was Always You

I woke up feeling a bit hazy and heavy. Where am I? Yesterday was complete blackout. The door of the room I was staying opened, it was Kiefer.

"How are you feeling? Are you alright? Kamusta ka na?" He asked me several questions then enveloped me in his arms. Okay, what happened? Iba na naman magreact si Kiefer eh.

"I'm okay. Masakit lang yung ulo ko." He loosened his embrace and sat opposite to me.

"Do you need anything? Or uhm, baka may gusto kang ipabili or kainin? Tell me, nagleave na rin muna ako para may kasama ka for days hanggang sa malaman kong okay ka." I can sense that Kiefer was tensed. I laughed at him because of his actions.

"I'm okay. Seriously, ano bang nangyare sa akin at ganyan ka na lang ka-exaggerated?"

"I want you to be safe. And please, be careful always ha? The doctor will attend to you later." Kiefer sealed a kiss on my forehead.

"Love, tell me what's going on please?" I frowned at him.

"As much as I wanted to, I can't. Hindi ko rin kasi maipapaliwanag sayo ng maayos yung condition mo." Sternly, he uttered those words. Di ko na napansin na umiiyak na pala ako.

"Mamamatay na ba ako? Yung cyst ba? Ano, cancerous na no? Kaya ka siguro ganyan!" I cried rivers of tears. Kiefer widened his eyes and replied, "Love, hindi! No, it's not about that please. Don't cry na. Masama kung iiyak ka pa ng iiyak." He continued to hush me.

Minutes later, the doctor arrived. She first checked my vital signs and proceeded to the results of the series of test I undergone yesterday.

"Mrs. Mika Ravena, I would advice you to take a leave for good. Hindi kasi makakabuti sayo kung mapapagod ka ng sobra at iwasan na rin natin ang stress. Eat healthy foods and keep yourself hydrated. Yun lang naman." The doctor smiled and I was left speechless. Ano nga yung sakit ko? Hindi naman sinabi kung ano yung nadiagnose nila sa akin. Kiefer was also smiling and thanking the doctor who attended me.

"Doctora, hindi nyo po nabanggit kung ano yung sakit ko." I asked.

"You are completely healthy as well as the baby inside you, Mika. Congratulations!" The moment the doctor announced those things, my heart thumped fast. I got a grip of my tummy with the thoughts of my unborn angel inside.

"Bakit ka na naman umiiyak? Sige ka, iyakin si baby nyan." Kiefer wiped the tears and cupped my face.

"I did not see this coming!" True enough, hindi ko talaga inasahan na magkakaanak pa ako simula nga nung nadiagnose na may namumuong cyst sa ovary ko.

Miracle baby indeed.

"Kenzo, Katie. You have to listen to what Daddy is about to say," Mika and I were about to tell the twins about their little sib inside their Mom's tummy. The twins held their hands and nodded.

"You will be Ate Katie. As for you, you will be Kuya Kenzo." I smiled at them. Katie stood up and hugged Mika, "Yay! I'm no longer a baby!"

On the other hand, Kenzo ran upstairs. I was about to follow him when Mika stopped me. Siya na lang daw ang magpapatahan kay Kenzo.

"When will I get to see the baby? Is she a girl? Or maybe a boy? What will be his name? Ooh, I know!" Katie uttered continuously. It seems like she is pretty excited for the coming of her new sibling.
