"Oh look at what I have done? Silly, silly me. Apologies Miss Jing for spilling champagne on your beautiful Persian rug. If you all will excuse me, I need to go to the powder room to attend to my dress." Chao Xing says, as cool as a cucumber.

Everybody in the room is silent as they watch her stand up and walk towards the door. As she passes John and Emmet, John reaches out to grab her wrist and says,

"Little bird, I'm so glad to see..."

"Mr Sutton Davies, will you please remove your hand." Chao Xing says calmly, pulling her hand away from him. "And please refrain from calling me that, the time of old nicknames has come and gone. I would prefer to be addressed as Shen Chao Xing." She smiles tightly and quickly leaves the room.

John is about to follow after her when Mr Emmet holds him by the shoulder, and says,

"Listen old sport, I think it's best to leave the girl alone, hey? We are all rubbing along nicely here and I would hate to cause any friction at dear Jing's lovely Mahjong party, you understand don't you, old chap?"

"Uh... of course dear fellow." Laughs John accommodatingly. "Ladies please, as you were, I only meant to say hello to old friends. Jing you are looking very good as usual, and I'm so sorry I don't know your name miss? "He says, looking at Jia.

"Mrs. Wu."

"Well Mrs. Wu, lucky Mr Wu, you look great as well." He checks her out winking at her, and then turns to Yue. "And how have you been Yue, or should I be more formal with you now and call you Wang Yue like Shen Chao Xing?" He jokes badly.

Yue smirks at him disapprovingly and doesn't respond.

"Well actually, you might want to refer to her as Wang Chao Xing from now on, it will be her name in a few days." Jing chimes in tipsily.

"Wang Chao Xing? What, has Wang He Di taken your little sister on as a concubine?" He addresses Yue, laughing enthusiastically at his own quip.

"I say, that's in rather bad taste John, even for you. Why don't we leave the ladies alone and retreat to my study for some brandies?" Says Emmet, trying to diffuse the situation.

"Actually Mr Sutton Davies, my little sister is getting married, to a different Wang man naturally." Yue suddenly speaks, her icy rage for this man simmering nicely. "She is engaged to the best man she has ever been with, and we are all very, very, very happy for her." She finishes off, smiling sweetly.

A look of disbelief settles on John's face as he processes the information he has been told. The truth is, he has always believed that Chao Xing would never move on from him. An egotistical man, when business brought him to Hong Kong, he had the notion that he would be able to charm Chao Xing back into bed with him, for the duration of his stay. She really still remains the best sex he has ever had, despite all that other awful business. At any rate, he never once suspected that she would be getting married? Ego bruised and unable to accept that Chao Xing could possibly find better than him, he says,
