Yue feels like shit as Wu Chung drives her home. The sun is already out and she just wants to get home as soon as possible. She hasn't been able to stop thinking of He Di the whole time. What is the matter with her? Scoring a date with a wealthy man like Wu Chung is something she lives for. It's very important for her to be able to ensure her future as soon as possible. She is still young now, but 10 years from now her act won't be as fascinating, if she doesn't make the big time. Men are always hankering for youth and it's imperative for her to maximize on this currency, while she still has it. She has seen the despair of faded beauties who never achieved much in the way of financial security. It's not a pretty sight. Society has no time for old ladies.

She gets out of the car and says her goodbyes, quickly running up the stairs. She gets to the door and pauses, she doesn't want to wake up He Di. Maybe he left the door unlocked? She tries her luck and it opens. Good! As she tiptoes in, she nearly catches a fright when she sees He Di sitting on the chair, looking at her with a blank expression.

"You almost scared me He Di! It's "6 a.m.", I thought you would be sleeping?"

He doesn't say a word, She looks down on the ground and sees his blankets are not there, instead they are folded on her bed. She looks back at He Di and notices that his suitcase is upright next to his feet. She feels a panic rush over her.

"What's...what's going on?"

He Di speaks quietly.

"I have made some egg fried rice, for you to eat when you wake up. I was just waiting for you to come back so that I could give you your keys. It's time for me to find my own place."

"What? Why?" Yue cries out, feeling destabilized.

"I made some good tips last night, so it looks like I can move out sooner than we anticipated."

"But..." She trails off.

He Di stands up towering over her, and he suddenly seems so manly to Yue, like he has grown up overnight, like he is older than her.

"I should get going." He picks up his suitcase.

"You...you don't have to leave, save that money. Why can't you stay He Di?" She asks, anguished.

"Because...because I can't watch you go off with other men!" He takes a deep breath and then in a calmer tone continues. "And then wait all night for you to come back home...It's too sad for me."

Yue feels her heart squeeze as she looks at his face. He looks desolate and it's all because of her.

"But He Di I...."

"I have to go Yue, I will see you tonight at the club for rehearsal at "10 p.m."  Get some rest and don't forget to eat the rice... bye."

He walks past her and out the door.
