MEMORY DAY
We're a generation
A misunderstood nation
Angry at the mess
Older kids have left for us
So that we could only rest
After we took our last breath.
We're not interested in being easy on the eyes
Don't you know we're broken, damned and damaged?
So don't you put on us your rules and presure
When we don't even know how to repair our hearts or broken minds
We're just a bunch of kids
We were never supposed to carry so much risk
Or deal with things this early
When our minds force us into things some people don't seem to worry
Jumping from bridges and hanging the ropes
Crying out in pain
Yet everything is still in vain
Is it really so hard to understand
This wasn't supposed to be our end?
It's like we're wearing rose-colored glasses
Knowing fully what goes on behind them
But choosing to rather shut our eyes
In front of the big hard truth
Pretending that it's all lies.
Let's memorize this in our brain
We're dying everyday
And the ones who survive
Have nothing left to do but to pray
We'll turn out okay.
