FOR EVERYONE WHO'S EVER FELT THIS WAY
I was too young to tell you this back then
And too young to even know what it truly meant
And maybe I should have never known
The sorrow that can exists in one's soul
But by then it was too late
And this is what I made.
To everyone who's ever felt this way
Misunderstood, unheard or broken
If you've ever wanted to take a razor
And cut your wrists open
Even if you never intended to make it critical
You deserved better than what you had
And this is not how your story ends.
Put down the blade, walk away from the hanging rope
Drop the pills and let them fall to the floor
I know you think there's not much hope
And you don't believe in what the future holds.
Remember five year old girl
Who's head was filled with dreams and goals
Don't you dare break her heart
By turning your back and walking away.
Hug her instead
Tell her how much she needs to learn
The art of self-love
And that she'll be okay even with cuts and burns
Running down her hands.
(That's better than being dead)
