Good News Bad News and A Little Tears

Chapter 21

Once again @sjaw123 came up with a hilarious comment on the last chapter that distracted me from the sadness :P

"Grace his ship was in it's way back home when it was attacked."

"Wait...was it the titanic because if it was IM GOING TO KILL THAT ICEBERG!!! It better hope it melts before I get there!!!"

I woke up from my nap when I felt Desiree move on top of me as she woke up. I was still on Eli. He had fallen asleep as well.

Eli woke up as we did. My mom was crying at the phone, my dad had to take it from her. I knew that this was a call from the hospital Gale was at and lightly moved Desiree as she moved to get more comfortable.

She now had her feet on Eli's lap and the upper part of her body laying across me.

My mom walked into the kitchen with Linda. Soon after my dad hung up the phone, he came over to us to give us the news.

"Ok, I have good news and bad news." he said.

I could feel the tears forming so I looked down at Desiree who was now peacefully sleeping.

"Gale will be fine, he has no major damage. He will not have anything but a few scars. Other than that, he will suffer nothing major."

I sighed in relief, biting my lip and closing my eyes, letting a few tears escape. I then realized that my mom was crying out of joy, not sadness.

"So what is the bad news." I whispered so I wouldn't wake Desiree.

"Gale won't be able to come back for about another month." I sighed at this news, but it was nothing compared to the good news. I could wait forever as long as I knew Gale would be okay.

I leaned my head against Eli's shoulder once again and he kissed my head. "I'm so happy, Eli. I get to see Gale in a month." I smiled and looked up at him.

He kissed my lips and Jack saw it, "Eww!" he shouted as he stopped for a split second before continuing to run away from Grant, I smiled.

Eli got up and ran after Jack, "Come here you." he laughed and Jack smiled and giggled as he ran from Grant and Eli.

I looked down at Desiree and she was starting to wake up because of her brothers annoying shouts and laughs.

She yawned and sat unwrapping her arms and legs around me, "Is Gale going to be ok?" she asked groggily.

"He is going to be fine but he won't be back for a while." I smiled as she cheered.

"Yay!" She shouted.

I laughed as she jumped up and down in my lap. I picked her up just by the arms so she was hanging from me and she screamed for me to set her down as I carried her out side with the boys.

"Grace!" she screamed, "Set me down!"

She was kicking her legs as I held her light body by her arms.

Grant ran by and took Desiree in his arms tickling her and making fart noises in her neck as she squealed in happiness.

Jack ran by me giggling as he threw pebbles at Eli who was chasing him. I loved seeing Grant and Eli play with the kids, it made me so happy inside.

I walked over to the swing we had on the porch and sat. I just watched as Grant played with Desiree and Eli grabbed Jack and held him upside down spilling all the toys he had in his pockets out on the yard.

I laughed and looked up when I saw my dad sit next to me.

"You've got a good one Grace. Eli is a good man, don't let him go." My dad smiled. I looked at him shocked at what he had just said, although I didn't make it evident on my face. I just smiled.

"I know, I'm not going to lose him." There was so much more that I had to say about that but I would be giving away too much.

I wanted to tell him how much Eli has been there for me, how he has saved my life countless amounts of times. How he has been so nice and caring to me. How he risked his life for me twice.

But telling my dad this would require giving away too much information that I'm not allowed to tell.

So I just simply wrapped my arms around him and hugged him, "I love you daddy." I said.

"I love you too." he kissed my head.

All I could do was think about getting to see Gale soon, I just really needed him here.

Sorry for the short chapter! I am warning you that there will only be like four more chapters to the book after this one. Kidnapped... Sort of is reaching the end :(
