Never have I seen the boys so serious before. It's natural to see Nathaniel like this but the others? Even Adrian looked serious. And that's to say a lot because that boy is never serious.
"Nathaniel? What is-" I'm cut off. By Dylan.
"And who are you hiding behind you? Oh come on Knight, don't be rude. Introduce us? I believe she's a Lockwood girl." He spits the words out as if it were venom. I frown in confusion. What is that supposed to mean?
"Indeed she is. And you know what they are capable of. Would you still like to meet her." Although his voice indicates that, it's the last thing he would do, Nathaniel says it anyway. Whatever it was he sought to attain, he did because I saw his lips, quirk up slightly.
Then as quick as it happened, it vanished and he turned his head to look back at us, still facing front though. Thrusting something into Daphne's hands, he nudges us forward and says. "Get into the car. We'll join you two later." Then turning to look at me, he gives me a warning look.
"And for once, let your stubborn self listen to orders!" I glare at him. Haven't I told him I don't take orders from anyone? Much less him?
Before I could say that though, Daphne pulls me along, dragging me like some kind of waste about to be disposed off. Before Nathaniel looks forward, I show him the finger and he rolls his eyes.
"What was that?" I ask Daphne as she continues dragging me.
"Let's get into the car first." Daphne says, all serious. Geez what the hell is going on?
I rip my hand from her hold and stomp my right foot. "No. You're telling me now! Why are we running away from some stupid boys that I don't even know?"
"We're not running away." She retorts.
"Oh yeah? Have a better word for it?" I ask and she gives me an annoyed look.
"See those boys out there, they're bad news. They treat girls...Lockwood High girls in particular...they treat us..." She trails off but I get what she's driving at.
"And why is that?" I ask and she groans. "Can we at least go sit in the car?" I give her a stubborn look.
"I don't want to sit in the car. I don't like how they're babying us, as if just by looking at those boys, we would explode or something." I complain and Daphne actually glares at me.
"It's not babying. It's called protecting stupid!" I glare back at her too as she calls me stupid.
"And who said we can't protect ourselves?"
"For the love of God I get it Sasha! Nathaniel issued that order so every cell in you is fighting to disobey him I get it! But this time around you've got to let it go. It's for our safety girl." My jaw drops as I look at her. That's not true.
