"YOU BLOODY GODDAMN SON OF A CHEAT-"

Harry's POV

The Quidditch season had begun. Today, I would be playing my first match after weeks of training. Painful weeks I'll add. Anyway, it was Gryffindor versus Slytherin. If Gryffindor won, we would move up into second place in the house championship.

Hardly anyone had seen me play because Wood had decided that as their secret weapon, I should be kept, well, secret.

But the news that I was playing Seeker had leaked out somehow, and I didn't know which was worse, people telling me I'd be brilliant or people telling me they'd be running around underneath me holding a mattress.

"You've got to eat some breakfast."

"I don't want anything." I was feeling sick to my stomach, eating would make it worse.

"Just a bit of toast," wheedled Hermione.

"I'm not hungry."

"Harry James Potter! If you don't shove something in your mouth this instant I wi-"

I quickly cut Jilly off by shoving eggs in her mouth. She glared at me but then shoved eggs in my mouth as well.

"Harry, you need your strength," said Seamus Finnigan. "Seekers are always the ones who get clobbered by the other team."

"Thanks, Seamus," I said sarcastically. "Makes me feel loads better."

"Here for you mate."

Snape walked up to us. "Good luck today Potter, then again since you've proven yourself against a troll, a little game of quidditch should be easy work for you, even if it is against Slytherin..."

I watched him limp off.

Wait-

limp??

"I saw his leg in the bathroom," I furrowed my eyebrows.

Hermione, Ron and Jilly turned towards me with confused looks.

"He tried to get past that three-headed dog at Halloween! That's where he was going when we saw him!! He's after whatever it's guarding! I'd bet my broomstick he let that troll in, to make a diversion!"

Hermione's eyes were wide.

"You've lost your broomstick then," Jilly instantly said.

"No, he wouldn't," Hermione supported. "I know he's not very nice, but he wouldn't try and steal something Dumbledore was keeping safe."

"Honestly, Hermione, you think all teachers are saints or something," snapped Ron. "I'm with Harry. I wouldn't put anything past Snape."

"I'm with Hermione. Snape's a teacher, a trusted one too. He's been teaching here for years. He wouldn't steal anything. If anyone would be of suspicion it's Professor Quirrell since he's the newest." We laughed at the thought of scared little Professor Quirrell battling the three-headed dog. Jilly continued. "Although I do think that someone is trying to steal something. But what are they after? What's that dog guarding?"
