I didn't get much time to catch up with my family as a small gaggle of guards had me taken to Dante to discuss something.
I hadn't explained to them how I made it to Mount Weather, only faintly that I was to be addressed by Atlys and never Persphyni. Which I also hadn't explained.
I disliked leaving them in the dark, especially Clarke. But I would speak with her at lunch. The excuse of catching up perfect to chat. And I would be able to tell her that Finn and Bellamy made it out before the rockets.
"You wanted to see me, Dante?" I wasn't going to address him as 'Mr. President' the small act of defiance would stand to show I was a leader of my people first.
"I hear you saw your people, yes?" I nodded scanning the office I was in. The three escorts had gone and waited outside the front door so that the two of us could speak privately. "Good. I assume you and Clarke have spoken." I rose a brow and uncrossed my arms as I stared at the older gentleman.
"About?"
"Leaving. Trying to find the rest of your people." I pursued my lips as Dante spoke.
"No, we didn't say much." I kept it brief. Even if it was true. He seemed skeptical as he nodded and walked around to the front of the desk and stood a foot away from me.
"Very well. I'd like to add a small tweak to our deal."
"What did you have in mind." I was going to hear him out but wasn't going to comply most likely.
"You convince Clarke that she is safe here," the feeling of something more shot through my body, the small warming sign blared, "after all, you all are."
"What did she do?"
"Attacked one of my people, threatened her and her life to see her people." I didn't bother holding back the smirk or small laugh at Dante's next words. "It seems she takes after you."
"What's in it for me?" Refocusing on the deal again.
"You get to join a search patrol to satisfy yours and Clarke's curiosity." I contemplated the addition to our first deal. Clarke can always change her mind after I 'convince' her.
"Deal." He smiled at me. "On one condition. I lead the patrol and if I find anyone I get to decide the fate of my people, all of them." His smile nearly dropped before he picked it back up.
"Deal. But you will be co-leading with Sergeant Shaw."
"He's the one I put a gun to, isn't he?" Dante nodded. "Great." I heard my stomach growl as I hadn't eaten anything all day today and the small fact that I hadn't had enough of really anything to keep my body going after yesterday was literally eating me alive.
"Lunch is going to be starting in ten minutes. Would you care to walk with me?" And the plan continues.
"It would be my pleasure, Dante."
I think I just threw up in my mouth. I held back my grimace as the two of us started to walk out of the office. It was for them. All of it.
_______•*•*•*•_______
I was walking back from grabbing some more food for Monty and Jasper, the two vacuums had taken my food and shared it amongst them as I had only taken small bites. When I went on patrol I would be stopping and grabbing some rations from the dropship.
The food here was good, and it unsettled me. It would make getting my people out harder, they already were convinced they were safe. But until I know the secret being hidden here, no one was.
"Every way out." Clarke's voice was a hushed whisper as I reached Monty's right side where I was sitting. Handing the two teens their plates and slowly sat down facing Clarke.
"Way out? Look around you, Clarke." Jasper said to the blonde who hadn't left my eyes. "There's no one hunting us here. First time in our lives we're not hungry. Why would we want to leave." I felt Dante's stare on the side of my head, as if he could hear the conversation and knew Clarke was wanting out.
"Clarke. Jasper's right." Her eyes widened a fraction as I remained stoic. "We aren't running from grounders anymore. It's safe. And I'd really like to speak with you later about a thought." I hope she understood my message, and judging by her quick mask she donned, she did.
"They're looking for survivors." Monty added trying to persuade Clarke as well. Not knowing about our silent agreement. "And they're way better equipped to find them than we are." I rose a brow in Monty's direction. But didn't say anything as my hands both slowly drifted to the hilts of my daggers for comfort. I don't know how, but they let me walk around with them. Even though without them I'm a weapon all on my own.
"This place is too good to be true." Clarke whispered looking to me. I gave a small tilt of my head showing I agreed with her but nothing else. They had cameras everywhere.
"You're bumming me out. I'm gonna get more cake." The three of us watched Jasper stand up and head over to the dessert corner where some girl was sitting reading a book. I noticed the small white bandage on her neck and nudged Clarke with my foot.
I rose a brow and moved my eyes in the girl's direction, silently asking if she was the one who did that. Apparently Clarke was thinking I meant something different as she nodded and walked over to the two who had started talking.
"So, can I try some of that?" I turned to Monty and pointed at the chocolate cake with my fork. He looked sadly down at the dessert then back to me with a small sigh. His eyes were filled with sorrow at the thought of losing his cake that I started to laugh. And kept laughing as Monty pouted even more. My hand slamming over my mouth to contain the horrid sound that made Monty slowly begin to smile.
"You have a nice laugh." I quieted down to normal, surprised that I actually could laugh like that. Then gave Monty a smirk holding out the bread knife instead of my dagger like before.
"I can't tell if you're being serious or if you're trying to flirt. Either way, I'd stop if I were you." Monty gave me a nudge as we smiled at the words.
"Wow, that was so long ago." He whispered as he slid the plate back to me.
"I know. I'm glad you're here Monty." Becoming serious as I looked him in the eye. "I should have gone with you when you went looking for Clarke and Finn. I let my ego get in the way of duty, and its my fault you were captured." Monty gave me a smile and set his hand on my shoulder.
"Atlys," I cocked my head as I stabbed into his chocolate cake, "shut up." My mouth was wide opened as I froze getting ready to bite the cake, my eyes huge as Monty held a serious face before laughing.
I aggressively ate the chocolate cake, unable to hold back the small moan that followed. It was a good thing we didn't have chocolate in space, or else I'd be a fatass, like Bellamy.
Speaking of co-leaders, where the hell did Clarke go. I really need to get a handle on myself, I had to focus and use all of my training, which is actually coming in handy, if I want to survive and get my family to safety.
I had to return to before the ground, only without the arena and Bloodmoon. I needed to concentrate on that darkness, needed to be dangerous.
I needed to be Persphyni Atlys, Bringer of Death and Bearer of the World.
I also needed to find Clarke, and those alarms are a good place to look.
