The first day of school went pretty well, besides almost being hit by a car, but it was okay for the first day back to school. It was more...interesting than usual. For some reason, I feel like there's a lot more in store for this year.
I sat on my bed and played around on my phone. I was currently messing around on an apocalyptic RPG game that Benny had suggested me to play. So far, the game was going really well and I was already on level five after the first few minutes of playing the game. What can I say? I'm a zombie killing master.
As I kept playing on my phone I heard my laptop make a ringing noise.
I sat up on my bed and grabbed my laptop and pulled it over to me, opening it to see it was the video chat app that came with the computer that Benny, Ethan, and I frequently used to talk to each other when we couldn't see each other in person, and the person who happened to be calling was Benny.
I sighed and slid my finger across the mouse pad, clicking on the "accept call" button.
"Hello," I answered, looking down at my laptops keys.
"Hey, Clover!" Benny's goofy face popped up on my laptop screen.
I groaned, "Benny, I told you to stop calling me that like a hundred times today!" I face palmed myself and looked back at the laptop screen, "What do you need?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to come over," Benny said, "I was going over to Ethan's in a little while, so I figured we could go over there together. We're having a movie night," He explained.
"Yeah, okay," I said sighing, "I'll be over in a few minutes."
Benny babbled, "Okay, see you then," His goofy smile spread across his face. The sound of his mouse clicking the button to hang up could be heard through the video chat as his face disappeared off of the screen.
I closed my laptops screen and laid back down on my bed, rubbing my eyes. I grabbed my phone from beside me and sat up and got off of my bed, going to grab my old backpack from beside my dresser.
I grasped the backpack by its handle and carried it to my bed. The bag was a little heavy, considering I had some stuff in it. I usually carried it with me when I went to Ethan or Benny's and didn't know how long I was gonna be there for, sometimes I stayed the night if their parents allowed it, which they usually did.
I slung the bag onto my shoulder and opened my bedroom door and walked down the hall and to the staircase. I held onto the staircase's railing and walked down and into the living room.
The only person home was my mom and she was in the kitchen cooking dinner.
"Hey, mom?" I called from the front door, grabbing my shoes off of the shoe rack and slipping them on, kneeling on the ground to tie the laces.
