We pulled into Ethan's driveway, got out of the car, and hurried up to the porch.

Ethan opened the door to his house and let me, Benny, and Sarah inside.

We walked into the foyer to see the mess we still had yet to clean up and that Jane was no longer asleep on the couch, instead Benny's grandma was watching TV.

"Ah," Benny's grandma, grandma Weir, hummed, looking over from the TV to us, "you kids are back," She said, getting up from the couch and turning off the TV.

"Yeah..." Ethan said, "We were at a, um," He hesitated, "a party," Ethan told her, "Sorry we got back a little late," He apologized.

"That's quite alright," grandma Weir told him, patting him on the back as she walked through the foyer and into the kitchen, "but now that you're back, I'm going home."

"But, grandma," Benny started, turning towards her, her turning back around towards us, "what about this mess?" He whined.

"You made it," She started, "you clean it up," Grandma Weir told us, turning around and walking to the backdoor.

We heard the sound of it opening for just a second and then close.

"I should really get going too..." Sarah said, scratching the back of her head with one finger, "My mom is expecting me," She told us, "Anyways, see you guys around," She said, opening the front door and walking outside, closing the door on her way out.

I sighed and turned to Ethan, "I'll help you clean if you want me to, Ethan," I offered, turning to him with a kind smile, as we stood there staring at the mess.

"You don't have to do that," He told me, "I'll clean it. It's my house and I don't want you to take any responsibility for anything if I get in trouble," Ethan explained.

"No, really, it's fine," I told him, making him look at me.

"Are you sure?" Ethan asked again, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," I said, plainly, walking into the living room, "You're not going to be able to clean this by yourself," I told him.

"Fine," He breathed, "I'll go get some rags from the bathroom," Ethan told me and Benny, turning to go down the hall to the bathroom by the kitchen. He speed-walked down the small hallway as Benny and I stood there in silence.

Benny walked over and plopped down on the couch, his arms resting on the back of the couch.

I turned and watched as he closed his eyes and leaned his head back.

"Are you gonna stay and help clean?" I questioned, walking towards him.

Benny opened his eyes again and looked up at me, blinking tiredly.

"Yeah," Benny said, "I guess I'll try to help a little.
I just don't know how much I'll be able to do 'cause I'm so sleepy," He told me in a dry and tired voice, rubbing his eyes.
