2 days before Sophie's 16th Birthday, 4 days before Valentine's Day
One word: Regrets.
Me and Sophie has stayed up until midnight setting up, and we weren't even done yet. We did makeovers until 12:30 and then watched the Shining, and that kept us up until 4:15.
Maybe a horror movie wasn't the greatest choice.
Especially one that's adapted from a book by Stephen King.
The next morning, my idiot dad woke us up by screaming, "IT'S JOHNNY!" at the top of his lungs, which caused us both to scream and nearly wet ourselves. SOMEHOW that was funny to him.
Sophie went home and I turned on the Simpsons and fell asleep watching that. The doorbell ringing a thousand times in a row woke me up.
I stormed over and yelled, "WHAT."
"Such a kind way to greet your boyfriend."
"Dex!" I squealed and tackled him in a hug. We'd been dating for 1 year, 2 months, and 18 days.
Not that I was counting or anything.
"So-random question-do you wanna sleep over at my house tonight? Me and Keefe want to do a Stephen King marathon."
I yawned, "Fine. But you have to watch the Shining."
"Why?"
"Because me and Sophie watched that and my dad scared the shit out of us in the morning. We want you to suffer as well."
"Let me guess, you'll be binge-watching My Little Pony in the other room?"
"Correction, either The Office or The Simpsons. Not My Little Pony." I scoffed jokingly.
"Oh, and ask Sophie to come! Keefe needs to ask her something."
"Is he finally going to ask her out?" I squealed.
"That's the hope, yes." Dex nodded with a shrug.
"Ooh, I know the perfect set-up." I cooed.
"You do?" Dex raised one eyebrow.
"Yesssss." I cackled evilly and a familiar black Honda pulled into the driveway. My cousins were here. Finally. "Oh-and is it okay if two of my cousins come?"
Dex nodded. "Yeah, sure. I don't mind."
I kissed him on the cheek and rushed over. I laughed and hugged my Aunt Annabeth, then hugged my Uncle Jackson(random names, totally not a percabeth reference, totally). Then me and my cousin Fairen lunged for each other and hugged. We were best friends, but also cousins(we made up this thing called BCF, Best Cousins Forever, when we were five. And it stuck). I hugged Fairen's brother, Fitz, but immediately introduced them to Dex.
"Fairen, Fitz, this is my boyfriend, Dex-"
"Wait a seconded," Fitz squinted at Dex, "Deck?"
Dex squinted at Fitz, "Wonderboy? You're related to Biana?"
"You're DATING Biana?"
"You two KNOW each other?"
"We went to camp together, like, three years ago." Dex explained.
"Ohhh." Me and Fairen said in unison.
"Wait, would you guys wanna sleep over at Dex's tonight with two of our other friends, Keefe and Sophie?"
"Isn't Sophie that blonde girl you left in the mall?"
"Wait-you know Sophie?"
"Yeah-we ran into each other at the mall yesterday."
I gasped, "I feel insulted. You didn't say Hi!"
"Let me guess, Sophie and Keefe are dating?"
"Nope, but Keefe's asking her out tonight," Me and Dex said in unison, "You'll wanna see it."
"We're also binge watching all the Stephen King movies."
"Even It?" Fairen asked, narrowing her eyes.
"Especially It-Part One and Part Two." Dex smirked.
"I'm in!" Fairen declared.
"Orrrr, you can watch The Office and The Simpsons with me and Soph," I suggested.
"Hmmmm, hard descision," Fairen pretended to seem confused, "Dwight Schrute or Pennywise?"
"Pennywise is on your side!" Jayleen yelled and I jumped. She was listening to us-the whole time.
"Nationwide is killing vibes." Fairen snickered.
"Hey, don't hate on Nationwide." Dex frowned jokingly.
"Can I come?" Jayleen begged.
"Nooo. You're not watching Steven King or Dwight Schrute."
"Why not? I know what se-"
"LET'S KEEP IT PG HERE!" I interrupted just as she was about to add the 'x' onto the word.
"Fine. I know what THAT is."
"They don't do THAT, Jesus Christ, Jay," Fairen snickered.
"Ohhh reallyyyyy?"
"Yes, really," I rolled my eyes, "C'mon. Let's go inside."
