unexpected feelings

nini looked at herself in the mirror with worry. it was the first day of school. the first day of her senior year

she wasn't really mentally prepared of what would happen throughout it, but she was going to have to find out eventually.

the girl looks at herself once more, taking in her appearance. she was wearing a black, oversized sweater with blue jeans and she left her hair out.

she took a deep breath and left her room with her bag over shoulder to go downstairs

"look who's up and running." carol smiles

nini returns the gesture and slowly sits down as she eats only a piece of toast.

"i'm not ready for senior year." jacob yawns as he slumps in the seat in front of nini.

aria walks in with a bright smile and exclaims "good morning!"

carol laughs at the three different moods in front of her before ushering them out of the kitchen to get to school.

the drive was with the radio on and aria and nini scolding jacob for his insane driving.

when they arrive, the three head over to their new lockers, where they are greeted by their friends

"oh my god i missed you!" ashlyn squeals as she hugs nini and aria.

the group had been separated all through summer, with ashlyn visiting l.a with her family and carlos and seb went to new york together. maya stayed in salt lake city and her and jacob became much closer.

"me too!" the girls exclaim with laughter as everyone catch up.

"okay, so do you know how disappointed seb was when he realized that the inside of the 'friends' apartment building was completely different than the show?" carlos says

everyone looks at seb and he pouts "i got excited for nothing!"

the rest laugh and nini feels a hand slide around her waist and she turns around to be greeted by james' brown eyes.

he smiles at her and leans in to kiss her, to which she kisses back.

"guys, seriously, my aspirin hasn't kicked in yet, could you not make out in front of me?" carlos groans

nini giggles as she leans her head on her boyfriend's shoulder and checks her class schedules

"okay, who has english first?" jacob asks

maya, seb and james raise their hands and he smiles

"well that's perfect." he winks at maya

she laughs as she kisses him on the cheek and they walk off to their class early

"they are so going to get married." seb predicts

ashlyn and aria nod and james kisses nini goodbye before heading off with seb

"you guys have history?" ashlyn asks

nini nods, but aria shakes her head

"i have computing,"

nini scrunches her eyebrows in disgust

"i will never understand why you like that coding stuff." nini says

aria sticks her tongue out before walking away to her class

"so, i missed some big things this summer." ashlyn smirks, referring to nini and james

nini shakes her head with a smile "it's been great."

"are you okay though?" the red-head asks

nini takes a deep breath "well, i just hope i don't have any classes with-"
