happy place

nini felt the familiar, warm softness of ricky's lips as they moved in sync with hers. what at first was a gentle and careful kiss quickly transitioned into a hungry and passionate one. the two were utterly and completely consumed by one another like a drug and only separated for oxygen as nini entangled her fingers in his curls and he slid his hands around her waist, pulling each other closer to as though it would be the last time that they would ever be together.

"nini!"

the two pull apart with difficulty at the sound of aria's voice calling for her, panting for air.

nini begins to panic as she leads him out the window.

"hurry up!" she whispers

"i'm trying!" he says in a hushed tone

just as he's on the roof, nini looks back into her room while leaning into the ledge

she turns back to face ricky, where his lips meet hers once again for a quick and tender kiss.

the girl smiles as she opens her eyes to see ricky beaming at her before climbing down and disappearing into the night.

ricky drove home with a bright grin painted on his face. he finally had her back and this time he wasn't letting her go.

nini's door bursts open and she turns around nervously to see aria.

"why do you have your window open?" aria asks as she brings her arms around herself to keep warm

nini looks back and closes it before turning to aria

"uh- wanted some fresh air." she lies

"are you okay?" aria asks worried, approaching her sister

nini tries to not show the redness in her cheeks as she nods with a genuine smile

"i'm better than okay."

aria sighs in relief as she hugs nini once more before saying goodnight, leaving nini alone in her room.

the brunette girl internally squeals and collapses on her bed, the kiss with ricky still in her mind.

they've had intense kisses before but this one was different. she didn't really know one specific word for it. but when they kissed, it felt like they were in need of each other and it had a genuine touch. she could feel that he really did love her and want her.

nini rolls to her side with a wide smile on her face as she slowly falls asleep.

the next day, nini woke up the next day and opened her phone to see that ricky texted her.

she smiles to herself.

'he's so sweet.'

nini jumps out of her bed and takes her clothes as she runs to the bathroom to get changed

once she's ready, she heads downstairs with her stuff and sees that ricky was already there

"hey neens you want to hang out today?" aria asks as gets up from the couch

"uh- i'm busy today." nini says

"oh. what are you doing?" aria asks with a raised eyebrow.

"nothing important."

before aria can say anything, nini ran out the door and entered ricky's car.

"hey." he smiles

"hey." she smirks as he starts to drive

the drive was a comfortable silence with nini looking out the window, one of her hands tapping on her thigh to the beat of the song playing on the radio and the other in ricky's.

they arrive at his house and go up to his room to watch a movie.

"what do you want to watch?" ricky asks as he scrolls through his netflix page.

"gossip girl!" she squeals

ricky groans "seriously?"

nini pouts "if you watch one season, i'll watch your criminal anatomy series thing."

"it's criminal minds and grey's anatomy." he sighs

nini laughs softly and pleads him before he eventually agrees.

he sets the laptop on the bed and puts his arm around her as she leans her head onto his shoulder with her arm around his waist

he softly rubs her arm as they watch the events on screen and she looks up at the boy in front of her with a small smile

ricky looks back at her and grins

"what?" he asks

nini shakes her head "i love you."

he smiles and leans his forehead on hers

"i love you too."

she brings her hand to his cheek and he leans in to kiss her gently.

this was where she wanted to be. ricky was her happy place and she was his too
