Early the next morning we were told to assemble at the fence for our last examination,.
By the time we reached, Mentor Kavya was already pacing there. Her hair was tied in a ponytail, her black leather jacket perched snugly over her white collared tshirt.
"Well!" She smiled her hands placed on her hips, as we stood in a line infront of her. "Ready for a day of lies?"
We nodded together, letting her start with her instructions.
"Each pair will have to retrieve information by examining the locals of Dehradun. Make sure you don't reveal your true identities during the process. Our agents will be there amongst the locals, but you won't obviously be able to distinguish." Mentor Kavya crossed her arms across her chest. "There is a possible illegal flesh trade that is going on in Dehradun, and we will need the information gathered by you, to bust it." She waited so that we could comprehend her words. "Remember your job is only to get the leads, and not engage with any of the suspects." She warned us. "You can either take your own vehicles or take the Traveller, the choice is yours. All the best." She clapped her hands twice, dispersing us.
Avinash decided to take the Enfield while Danish gave Mandy and Natasha a lift since Natasha was too apprehensive of Mandy's motorbike.
"Remember you have to reach before dusk," Mentor Kavya called out, "Your marks will depend on the usefulness of the information you have gathered."
The Enfield was faster than the cars, making us reach Dehradun way before the rest.
"So what is your plan?" I asked Avinash once we reached the city centre.
"Pretend to be journalist I guess and visit the brothels." He called out.
"We won't get a thing out that way." I replied.
"You have a better plan?" Avinash asked exasperatedly.
"Hmmm." I replied. "Stop near a police Station." He shrugged, but stopped at a nearby police station.
"I hope we don't waste time unnecessarily interrogating the cops." Avinash sounded indignant.
"Who said anything about interrogating cops?" I replied as I pulled out my phone, resting my elbows on Avinash's shoulder and logged into the WiFi of the police Station. Mentor Rohit's training helped me smoothly break through the firewall and within minutes I logged into the classified police database.
Avinash was getting impatient as we sat on the Enfield.
"Take these addresses down." I barked at him. He took out his phone and Whatsapped me the addresses I dictated.
"Let's check the first one out." I said putting my phone back and hugging Avinash from the back.
"I thought we were supposed to be partners." He snapped, revving the bike.
"Awwww, my baby is angry with me." I said pressing his cheeks, as we rode towards our first destination.
"I just hacked into the Uttarakhand Police Database and acquired the details of girls who have gone missing from Dehradun in the last one month." I informed him.
"You did it that fast?" Avinash asked incredulously.
"Yep, and right now we are going to Anchal Rastogi's house. She was the last girl to disappear."
Avinash took me around the city as we visited the friends and families of the five girls who had gone missing. Most of them were teenagers studying in schools or colleges. We pretended to be investigators of the state police and luckily for us, we weren't asked to show our identity.
