The final trimester of the year dragged on, reminding me of Avinash's absence during classes. Instead of wanting the lectures to go on forever, this trimester I impatiently waited for them to wrap up fast, so that I could meet my demigod.

But we hardly got time together, since Avinash always had soccer practice occupying his evenings.

"I miss the previous trimester." Natasha lamented one afternoon as we watched from the bleachers the boys practice on the outdoor football field. The snow had finally melted and the days were mildly warmer.

"Me too." I said quietly scratching Brute under his ears. Natasha was probably the only one who could understand my feeling, being stuck in a similar void.

"I for one, am relieved it is over." Mia huffed "My brain couldn't take anymore of the final year syllabus."

"Make that two." Olivia chirped "Not to mention, I hated being separated from Danny. And Nuts, I love having you around too." Olivia pouted.

Natasha grimaced at the nickname making Olivia giggle.

Natasha, was no more a loner. Olivia made sure she sat with her during classes. If you take out her foreboding personality, Natasha was otherwise a really sweet girl. I felt glad that the rest of the group made sure that Natasha didn't feel left out.

Even though they had been batchmates for more than a year, it was only during the last trimester that Natasha became friends with Olivia, Danish, Zoravar and Avinash.

"You surely are a life saver Oly." Natasha smiled at Olivia. I felt happy that Natasha too had friends now. She and Olivia had bonded well, making them as thick as me and Mia now.

Before long the boys joined us. Absolutely exhausted due to their rigorous practice. We accompanied them to the hostel building, Brute happily trotting on Avinash's side.

"Just the weekend and I then....freedom." Zoravar said dramatically.

"I cannot wait to witness this soccer face off." Mia grinned.

"You are going to love it." Olivia said dreamily. "It's more hyped than the dance face off."

"Which escalates the pressure on the players." Junaid groaned.

"Don't worry Naid, I have your back." Avinash said clapping him on his back. Junaid looked a little flustered from the gesture. I loved how awed my two besties were with Avinash. Mandy practically worshipped the ground Avinash walked. Junaid too seemed awed by him.

The simple Kadhi Chawal(Rice with gram flour Curry) dinner was palatable but not delicious. This was however the only time I had with Avinash, and I tried to make the most of it. But given that we were always surrounded by friends, it was difficult to have a private moment.

"Mia is going to Dehradun?" Avinash whispered in my ears.

I nodded, chewing my food.

"Can I stay with you for the weekend?" He murmured quietly, so that no one could hear us.

I could feel the butterflies once again rocketing around, as my heart raced. I nodded slowly, trying not to let the grin break on my face. He squeezed my thighs secretly, before concentrating on his food.

The rest of our friends were unaware of our exchanges.

Usually I felt sad whenever Mia left for Dehradun. It meant I had to stay alone. Today for a change, I was eagerly looking forward to her leaving for Dehradun.
