'M4 group chat'

Mia: Fatima ran away from her aunt's place.

Me: She did what?

I was in the middle of decoding the new clue Mentor Luke had scribbled across the white board. It looked like Mandy had not checked the message yet since he was engrossed in solving the clue.

Mia: Yesss. Can you believe it? She texted me today from an unknown number.

Mia attached a screenshot of her chat with Fatima.

Junaid: I cannot wait for this boring history class to be over and talk about this face to face.

Me: Neither can I.

It was a lie though. I wanted the classes to go on, since it gave me more time to be with Avinash. Even though we never spoke about anything other than studies, yet I liked being close to him.

"Hey I think I solved it." Avinash said in a low voice. "Can you cross check it?"

I locked my phone and checked the white board.

I turned my gaze to Avinash's diary and checked his decryption

'DOING NOTHING IS BETTER THAN BEING BUSY DOING NOTHING'

"You did this?" I asked incredulously. It had been hardly ten minutes and he had solved it already.

I raised my hand before anyone else could. Luke looked at our direction.

"Done Ms. Banerjee?" He smiled.

"Its 'Doing nothing is better than being busy doing Nothing'." I told the mentor.

"Precisely, six points to your pair." Luke smiled "you are breaking your own record Ms. Banerjee. Mr. Chauhan you are lucky to have one of the sharpest minds of this college as your partner."

"Actually Mentor Luke," I looked at Avinash before facing my Mentor, "Avinash solved it."

Mandy and Natasha were both gaping at me.

"Are you sure?" Mentor Luke asked disbelievingly.

"Quite sure, because I was texting Mia all this time." I raised my phone. Why the fuck did I have to be this recklessly defensive, every time someone questioned Avinash's integrity.

"That is going to cost you one point Miss Banerjee." Mentor Luke said disapprovingly. "Aren't you aware, you are not allowed to use your phones when the class is on ?"

"I know, but this was an emergency. I had unannounced menstrual bleeding, so I was asking her for help." There comes periods to the rescue.

Avinash trembled trying hard to control his laughter and Mandy shook is head in frustration.

"Ummm, Okay just this one time, no deductions." Mentor Luke looked a little uncomfortable. Menstruation wasn't an easy topic to discuss, so he must have believed I was telling the truth. He turned his gaze to my partner "Avinash you just made me proud boy. Well done."
