CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
Stilettos

Even our house is empty, the only thing that remained was the furniture that we left.

Wala akong alam na umuwi na pala sila Manang Greta sa probinsya nila, nami-miss ko pa naman sila lalo na si Isaac.

"Welcome back home, Aria..." I mumbled to myself.

Pulling in my luggage with me, I decided to go up to my old room. Kakapagod din ang flight, Carter and I parted ways since hinahanap na siya ni Tita Esther.

Everything was organized and clean, it wasn't dusty as I thought it would be, because Tita Sylvia made sure that I'd get comfortable when I get back.

Hearing the rain outside made me more tired, mabuti nga at 'di kami naabutan ng ulan papauwing Pinas.

Napalingon ako sa phone kong umiilaw at may naka-display sa screen na tumatawag, "Tita?"

"Nakauwi ka na? Is everything okay there?"

I put my phone on speaker, undressing myself to wear clean clothes. "Everything's good, Tita Sylvia."

"Sige... take your rest muna, galing ka pa sa long-flight mo. I'll meet you at the company tomorrow." Her voice echoed.

"Okay, see you soon po." Buntong hininga kong tinitignan ang paligid ng kwarto. Bukas ko na sasabihin kay Tita ang nangyari kay Mommy. Wala pa akong nasabi sa kanya, dahil ayokong makadagdag pa sa problema niya.

Kahit ilang taon na ang lumipas, my things are still here, so were my parents' stuff that they didn't brought abroad.

Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko na ibebenta ko 'tong bahay namin. Marami rin 'tong alaala kaya gusto kong lumipat nalang. Halos hindi umuuwi sila Mommy at Daddy sa bahay noon, but the memories they've left here still lingers.

I hope Tita won't mind that I'll be planning to sell this house, this is too big for one person after all...

Eating breakfast was not my thing anymore, nasanay na akong magcoffee nalang, kaya pumunta na ako kaagad sa kompanya.

I nod at the employees who greeted me and got in the elevator, pressing the last number.
