10 - You Wouldn't Hurt Me, Would You?

You had just gotten out of the shower when your phone rang. Seeing Monomas name light up on the screen made you quickly snatch your phone from your bed. You took a deep breath to compose yourself before answering the call.

"Hey! Monoma?" you answered in a bubbly tone. "What's up?"

"Hey, how's it going (Y/N)?" His smooth elevated voice brought a smile to your face. "I have some bad news and good news. What do you want to hear first?"

"Um, bad news I guess."

"Bad news is that you can't wear a skirt. Good news is that we're going to laser tag this weekend!" 

You breathed a sigh of relief. The date wasn't cancelled like you had feared. 

"It's more bad news for me but still. I thought you would be more comfortable in something other than a skirt."

"Oh how thoughtful of you," you laughed. You were glad he wasn't in front of you now or else he would see how red your face was becoming. "So we're still on for this weekend?"

"Yup! I'll pick you up at your place around 3 this Saturday. Is that alright?"

It would've been alright if you weren't staying at Midnights house. 

"Actually, I'll send you where we should meet up."

The time on your phone read 3:10PM. You were running 10 minutes late on your first date with Monoma and were mentally beating yourself up over it. You had spent the majority of your morning panicking over what to wear and talking to Itsuka on the phone who was doing her best to calm you down. She kept telling you that everything would be fine and that you were going to have a great time with Monoma. But the doubts and insecurities in the back of your mind said otherwise.

Luckily you had already texted Monoma that you would be there soon. That way he didn't think you just ditched him. You kept running down the street, purse hitting your hip as you tried to make it to the park. It had been your idea to meet him at a local park to avoid having him show up at your house. 

Finally, you arrived at the entrance of the park where Monoma was waiting for you. He turned to you with a smile, his inviting ocean eyes making your heart skip a beat.

"I'm so sorry I'm late!" you apologized. You were still panting slightly from running.

"Whoa, it's okay, (Y/N)," he chuckled. "It happens. Here let me buy you something to drink."

"N-No! It's fine, really!"

"Please," he scoffed. "I insist."

He walked across the street where a vending machine was, you following him close behind and reassuring him that it was alright. But Monoma waved your sincerity away and got you a bottle of green tea. 

He handed it to you with a smile. "Here, drink up. I want you to be energized for our laser tag battle."

The glint of mischief in his eyes made a faint blush creep onto your cheeks. Monoma could be quite a competitive person but it was a trait that you didn't mind. You found it a little admirable really. He was someone who always gave it his all no matter the task. 

You brought the bottle to your lips, the cold drink helping you catch your breath. "Thanks," you mumbled shyly. "So um, which way should we go?"

"There's a bus we can take to the place nearby. Follow me."
