My POV
I walked through the forest. It seems that the time slow down (a/n from the chapter when I was with Ami and Geo.) is gone.
Oh well, I guess that was from the bracelets... which did turn to ash. I thought. I took the key out of my pocket and looked at it.
What good are you for? I thought. Then a vision flashed in my head. Flames consumed the land and a hidden face smirked at it. I shook my head. The end was coming soon, so I had to inform Geo of the problem. Then, he could relay the info to the queen. I still had my shades but it was a shame that there was no call button on that thing.Wait what's this? I thought as I fiddled with the shades and accidentally tapped a button on my left side of it. A small screen appeared. It said Calling......
Well I guess I found the call button. I thought and I got a small picture of Geo pushing a wheelchair with a greenhaired girl in it. I tapped a button on the other side of the shades, quickly as to not surprise anyone. Fortunately, that was the end call buttonI heaved a sigh of relief. Few people know of my existence, I didn't need more.
Looks like I have to send the message personally. I thought. I walked through the forest and eventually saw the city. Once again, I stepped into the city. With a gold cloak around me, I was very flashy like a gold ingot in a sea of dull bronze coins.
Can this thing turn invisible? I thought and the cloak slowly turned transparent.
Cool! I thought, looking at myself. I kept walking until I saw the castle, looming overhead. The guards stood in my way.
"Halt!" One of them shouted."I have news for the queen." I replied
"None shall enter without an invitation!" He barked.
"I don't think the end of the world is too much to wait for, is it?" I asked. The two of the guards looked at each other. I knew that they were wondering whether or not I was someone crazy or being serious.
"I am serious. This place will become rubble and all lives here will be lost. So what will it be?" I said. The two guards lifted their weapons and signalled for me to follow.Eventually we reached.
"Hello!" I said rather cheerfully. Surprisingly, I felt calm while facing the queen. I guessed that I had overcome that fear of losing my life. Or maybe because I had seen bigger monsters in the Maze. The queen stood up and I could see her, powering up, shown by her hair rising up and glowing. I raised a hand first."Hold up! Can I just say something first?" I asked but the queen just blasted me with her huge energy ray. I raised a hand, in hopes of what the final messenger gave me was real. The blast nearly hit me but about 1 metre away from me the ray seemed to hit an invisible wall and dissipated. I heaved a sigh of relief. The ability was real. I thanked him in my heart.
"Whew! You nearly killed me!" I said pointing a finger gun. Unexpectedly, a laser blast shot out from the tips of my finger drilling a hole through the wall behind the queen. I looked at my hand.
"Whoops.... what was that?" I asked myself.
"Enough! For that, you have just forfeited your life privileges!" She shouted, indignantly.
"Really? God, do all queens have this kind of attitude?" Another blast of energy was fired and my barrier protected me.
"Torea is going to be destroyed by great evil. The entire world is at stake here. Why won't you listen to me?" I protested
"Oh really now? And what am I supposed to do? Believe a person that just tried to kill me?" She retorted. I shrugged."Good point. But at least hear me out." I begged. You could literally see the steam over her head.
"I have heard of this so called end of the world. Madmen, thieves and scavengers. Why should I trust their word and why should I trust yours?" She replied. I realised I had run into a problem. She claimed that she had heard it from other people which I knew was probably true. After all, talk about the end of the world could be pulled off by madmen and scammers. She has no reason to believe me.
Stab the ground with the sword. You don't have to trust me but if you value your life please do so. A voice whispered in my ear. I looked around
"How 'bout this? If I can show you what I heard, would you believe me?" She grunted and nodded.
Well. I have one shot. If I mess this up, I am going to die. Probably I thought. I grabbed my sword and prayed that the Gods would help me.
I stabbed it in the ground and waited. For a few moments nothing happened. I was starting to sweat. Then, the earth split open. Flames leapt out and nearly charred me on the spot. In the flames, a vision of an army of monsters destroying a temple in the desert. A town hidden in the desert was razed to the ground.
This is just the beginning. A voice boomed.
First, your sister's domain will fall and then, yours, Queen Gwain. We have chosen our champion. What will you do? Kill him? Or prepare him for the moment the war arrives? Evil shall invade this land and you must prevail.
The ground closed up and I pulled out the sword from the earth. The queen seemed stunned. I snapped my fingers and she snapped to attention.
"So," I said, a little shaken
"Are you doubting me now?"Here you go! Okay, if you saw my a/n you know this will most likely be my last chapter this year. Next year, I have some serious exams so I may not update as much as I would like to. I would like to apologise for the first few chapters. I find it too late to change it so that's that. I will make it up with a better storyline. Next chapter: I meet with the rest of Geo's group. This is Agent_I signing out.
