Mackenzie's mind was a complete and total blur the entire day.

She couldn't get her mind to focus because it just kept drifting back to what had happened that morning with Johnny.

Did she like him? This was the question that kept swirling in her mind.

Of course she didn't like him. Was she stupid? She couldn't possibly like him, or could she.

She let out a frustrated groan and slammed her book on the table. She decided to text Maddie.

It was study hall after all and nobody actually studied. It was really just a place to sleep, eat and socialize, in a non noisy way.

The fact that her teacher was 65 didn't help. She was always asleep. They still didn't make noise, because that would startle her and then she wouldn't go back to sleep.
