Lauren's POV
I pulled up in front of my house and sighed a deep breath. I ran a hand through my hair, before opening the door and climbing out.
I sauntered into the house, slamming the front door behind me.
"John." I yelled from downstairs, but there was no answer.
I walked over to the bottom of the staircase, and yelled his name about three more times, before he finally came rushing down.
"What do you want?" He groaned.
"We need to talk." I answered quietly.
"Okay, what's this about?" He asked curiously, "are you okay?"
"I'm fine John," I answered, waving my hand.
"Then what's this about?" He questioned.
"It's about you." I stated flatly.
"Me?" He asked curiously.
"Yes. You and Mackenzie." I nodded.
"Lauren, can we please not talk about this." He sighed.
"John, you need to tell her." I said pleadingly.
"I can't Lauren, you know that."
"I've known Mackenzie for as long as I can remember, she'll understand." I begged, "please John, I don't want to see her get hurt."
"How am I supposed to tell her?" He asked, letting out an aggravated sigh.
"I don't know." I answered truthfully, "but if you want I'll come with you."
"It's fine Lauren." He shook his head.
"No it's not." I argued, "if Mackenzie finds out from someone other than you, she'll be pissed and even more hurt."
"I know that." He yelled, causing me to flinch slightly, "I just can't bear the thought of loosing her."
"You made this stupid decision, so you have to fucking figure things out." I yelled back.
"Don't yell at me!" He said sternly.
"I'll do whatever the fuck I want." I sneered.
"This is none of your business Lauren, so just stay out of it." He said, pointing his finger at me.
"Where it concerns Mackenzie it concerns me." I spat, crossing my arms over my chest.
"I'm going to tell her soon Lauren," he breathed, sitting down on the couch.
"When?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
"I don't know." He admitted, "I don't want to do it before prom, and I don't want to do it before graduation."
"Then when? Heaven knows when next she'll see you after graduation." I sighed, going over to him and sitting by him.
"I can't do it before prom, because I'm afraid she won't go with me anymore."
"I understand, but if you wait til graduation, it'll be too late. You'll crush her." I said, trying to reason things out.
"I'm just so confused." He sighed, leaning back into the chair.
"All this would have been avoided, if you had just told her from the start." I shrugged.
"How was I to know I'd fall in love with her." I groaned, and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"You really care about her don't you?" I smiled.
"I love her to bits." He answered, nodding slightly.
"I never thought I'd see the day." I giggled childishly, resting my head on his shoulder. "My brother finally fell in love."
"Shut up." He laughed.
"So when are you proposing?" I smirked, causing him to shove me playfully.
"I already did." He answered smugly.
"Yesterday?" I asked.
"Mhm, I gave her the promise ring." He answered.
"The ring that I picked." I said smiling satisfactorily.
"Yeah, yeah thanks." He mumbled.
"Just promise me you'll tell her soon." I sighed getting up.
"I promise." He nodded.
"If you don't, I'll be forced to tell her myself."
"Fine." He answered.
I raced upstairs to my room and flopped down on my bed.
"God, please don't let Johnny do anything stupid." I muttered to myself, as I kicked off my shoes.
