Mackenzie was sprawled out on her bed with Maddie, and they were both watching stranger things.
Mackenzie glanced at her phone and saw the time was 4pm, meaning she had two hours and thirty minutes, before Johnny would be here to pick her up.
She was about to set her phone down when Johnny's name flashed across her screen. She read the message and smiled to herself. Even though all the message said was "see you at 6:30" it still filled her stomach with butterflies.
"What're you smiling about?" Maddie asked her, nudging her slightly.
"Oh, Johnny sent me text." Mackenzie answered, smiling sheepishly.
"Ooh what'd he say?" Maddie asked enthusiastically.
"He said see you at six thirty." Mackenzie sighed happily.
"What's so special about that?" Maddie asked.
"I just want to see him." Mackenzie shrugged getting up, and turning off the TV.
"I'm happy for you." Maddie smiled.
"Thanks." Mackenzie nodded, blushing slightly, fumbling nervously with her hands.
"Hey, are you okay?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah, it's just Lauren said something to me the other day and it's really been bugging me." Mackenzie answered, sighing deeply.
"What'd she say?" Maddie asked curiously.
"She said something about how she knows what John's capable of, and how I should be careful."
"What do think she meant by that?" Maddie questioned.
"I have no idea." Mackenzie answered, shaking her head.
"Look, I'm sure John will tell you if something's up." Maddie smiled.
"Really?"
"Really." Maddie nodded reassuringly.
"Thanks Mads." Mackenzie squealed, engulfing her sister in a tight hug.
Mackenzie pulled away when she felt her phone vibrate beneath her. She pulled it out and saw a text from Annie.
Annie
Bish!!!
Get your ass outside
We're waiting for you."I completely forgot." Mackenzie yelled, rushing over to her closet, and hurriedly putting on her shoes.
"Where're you going?" Maddie asked, as Mackenzie ran around frantically trying to find her purse.
"The girls and I are gonna get our nails done, and I completely forgot." Mackenzie shrieked, as she grabbed her purse.
"We'll get going!" Maddie laughed.
"That's what I'm doing." Mackenzie chuckled, racing downstairs with Maddie behind her.
"Bye!" Maddie called.
"Bye!" Mackenzie yelled back as she dashed out the door.
"You forgot didn't you?" Nadia asked.
"What? No." Mackenzie lied.
"Mhm." Annie answered, shooting her a look.
"Okay, fine. I forgot." Mackenzie muttered.
"Guessed as much." Nadia chuckled, before shoving Mackenzie playfully.
"Let's just get going." Lauren sighed, walking over to her car.
"Aww, Kenz still doesn't have a car." Nadia said playfully.
"Shut up." Mackenzie snapped, rolling her eyes playfully.
