Mackenzie was having dinner with her mother when she received a text from Johnny. A smile immediately graced her lips.

John

I'm at your door.

"Shit." Mackenzie muttered, as she heard a knock on the door.

"No cursing." Her mother told her sternly.

"Sorry Mom." She mumbled.

"Go see who's at the door." Her mother instructed her.

Mackenzie rushed over to the door and looked through the peep hole and sure enough Johnny was standing there.

She took a deep breath before opening the door.

"Hey sweetheart." He smiled kissing her on the cheek.

"My mom's in the kitchen." She giggled, blushing slightly.

"Oh right." He smiled.

She grabbed his hand before leading him into the kitchen.

"Ahem." Mackenzie said loudly, cleaning her throat.

"Yes Mack-" Melissa said turning around but was surprised to see Johnny.

"Johnny." She smiled, "did you come to drop Lauren off?"

"No. I'm  here for Mackenzie." He answered.

"Why's that." She asked inquisitively.

"I'm here to take her on a date." He smiled taking MacKenzie's hand and lacing his fingers through hers.

"Oh." Her mother smiled, "Mackenzie you never told me?"she said, her eyes gesturing to her and Johnny's hands.

"Surprise." Mackenzie laughed nervously.

"Well, I guess she can go." Melissa smiled.

"Really mom?" Mackenzie asked, her eyes immediately lighting up.

"Sure."

"Thanks Mom." She smiled hugging her, before dragging Johnny up to her room.

"Wear that one." He said, pointing to a navy blue sweatshirt in her closet.

"Why?" She pouted, "I want to wear the grey one."

"Blue's my favorite color, but if you like the grey then sure." He shrugged, sitting on her bed.
