The weekend came around quickly. As soon as Chris got home from work, he freshened up and packed some of the things he needed to take with him on his trip. On his way out, he decided to make a stop at Marley's first.
"Good to see you Man!" Marley welcomed him. "You look great!"
"I feel great!" Chris smiled.
"Honestly, I'm so happy you finally decided to go visit your folks. There's nothing like family."
"There really isn't! I've missed doing so much with my them. Can't wait to get those times back. Anyway, how are you going to spend the weekend?
"Kim would be here shortly. We have a special dinner planned for tonight and tomorrow I'll take her for some shopping after which we'll head over to the game."
"Uh sounds like so much fun. I think I need to forget about this trip and join you guys." Chris said excitingly.
"No way Man, you're not invited!" Marley raised his hand in objection.
"Oh it's like that huh? Well, when you guys start missing me and want me back, I won't be there!" Chris rolled his eyes.
"Yes you will! I wouldn't even have to call." Marley laughed.
"Oh, we'll see alright." Chris smirked. "Anyway I've got to run now. Thank goodness they only live 30 minutes away."
"Text me when you arrive. Need to make sure you don't crash and end up inside the bush again." Marley laughed hysterically.
"Haha, very funny! How about you give Stand-up a go?" Chris replied in a sarcastic manner and started his engine.
"Oh I will. Wouldn't look at you twice when I'm famous." Marley smiled.
"Ha! Try getting rid of me that easily Pal."
"I know I can't. You're like glue." Marley chuckled. "You drive safe now!"

When Chris arrived, his mom ran out of the house and gave him a hug as soon as he got out of his car.
"Oh dear, honestly I had a tiny bit of doubt in my mind that you'd make it. Glad you did." Christine smiled.
"You have to start trusting me Mom because I'll never refuse an offer you make to me again." Chris replied as he got his bag out of the car.
Christine led him into the house and Flower, their 6 year old Golden Retriever, came running out the door and into Chris' arms.
"Hey Sweet girl, how are you? Aw, I missed you so, so much." Chris said as he lifted her off the floor and carried her back inside.
"Look at her tail go. She's so excited to see you." Chris' dad smiled as he walked into the living room.
"Dad!" Chris called out as he gently placed Flower on the couch and went over to hug him.
"So happy to see you again Son. We have a lot to catch up on aye?" Colin said.
