41: Double Engagement

Saturday arrived and the girls couldn't be any more excited than they already were. Chris and Marley had rented out a restaurant large enough to fit 100 people and the girls made sure to invite everyone special to them.

Their Makeup Artist arrived by 6pm and got to work immediately. By 7:30 pm they were both dressed and ready to hit the road.

Jacqueline dazzled in a sheer peach, one shoulder, mermaid dress and had her hair up in a stylish high bun while Kim glammed in a sleeveless, red lace, mermaid gown and wore her hair long and wavy.

Chris and Marley pulled up within a short while in a Lamborghini Limousine. Chris descended from the vehicle first, looking sharp in a navy blue tuxedo and matching bow tie while Marley followed in a grey tuxedo and a black bow tie.

They led the ladies into the car after exchanging pleasantries and in 15 minutes time, they found themselves at the venue.

Jacqueline was so excited to see her mother, brother, Tatyana and her former co-workers from the Club at the party likewise Kim who was overjoyed to see that her mom and dad were able to come along with her 8 year old daughter.

The ceremony commenced after a short prayer and the celebrants were introduced. They each gave an appreciation speech dedicated to their families and loved ones which was met by a round of applause.

After dinner time was over, everyone came around the celebrants to take a few pictures with them.

Next on the programme was games. Everyone voted by a show of hands for the celebrants to get the ball rolling which they agreed too. The rule of the game was simple.

"Both ladies will carry an egg given to them by their partners using the teaspoons in their hands. They'll take this to that basket over there and gently drop it inside without touching the egg.
Whoever does this the fastest without breaking the any of the eggs is the winner."

"Are we ready to do this?" The MC yelled out and the guests chanted a loud "YEAH!".

"Alright, the celebrants will get into position now! On your marks... get set... GO!!!"

The timer went off and the guys quickly but gently placed the eggs on the teaspoons and the girls ran to the basket as fast as they could while focusing on the eggs.

They both arrived at the basket at the same time and gently put the eggs in it and immediately ran back to their partners to collect more.

Some of the guests seriously cheered while others laughed hysterically at how Jacqueline and Kim struggled to run in their mermaid gowns.

The girls collected the second set of eggs and sprinted towards the basket in front of them. They safely dropped the eggs in it and as they turned back to head for more, they saw Chris and Marley both on one knee each holding up a tiny box with a Diamond ring in it.

The girls looked at each other and gasped. The guests cheered endlessly as Kim and Jacqueline slowly walked back to the guys who were all smiles.

Now the girls stood in front of both guys still propped up on one knee. Jacqueline stared into Chris' eyes and it was as if the world had disappeared. Kim could feel her hands shaking as she tried to hold herself together.

"Jacqueline," Chris started. "Knowing you and inviting you into my life has been the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"Through life's constant stress and changes, I can comfortably say that I remain extremely happy and fulfilled above all these things because I have you in my life Kim." Marley smiled.
