Chapter 20

"I OFFICIALLY GIVE UP!" Jisoo raised her hands up in the air and stood up from her seat. She placed her hand on her temple and started massaging it.

"how can you answer this so easily, Jen?" she asked Jennie who was peacefully browsing her notes. The short girl looked at her and shook her head.

"unlike you, I listen to the professor who is discussing in front rather than sleeping for the whole period" she says then went back to reading.

Jisoo rubbed her hand on her face and sighed. She flopped herself back at her seat then took the pen on her hand, she started playing with it while thinking of the answer to the problem.

"hey guys!" Irene suddenly came out of nowhere and sat beside Jennie while Seulgi appeared beside Jisoo.

"seems like jichu here is having a breakdown. what's the problem?" Seulgi asked while peeking over Jisoo's laptop.

"she's been sleeping in class again so here she is, having troubles in answering the assignment" Jennie chuckled while she took a sip of chocolate milk.

"that's a big no no when the class is calculus, Jisoo" Irene chuckled too.

"I can't help it, I'm too tired from practice." Jisoo whined while Seulgi pat her back. "that's okay, let it all out before you do another 30 push ups later" Seulgi said jokingly and that earned her a bad look from Jisoo.

"hey, where's Rosie? why isn't she with you?" Seulgi asked when she realized that the trio was missing a member.

"now that I think about it, I haven't seen her for awhile now. Is she busy with the band?" Irene asked and Jennie shook her head as a response.

"she was needed to go back home. Don't worry, the band is still practicing under my supervision" Jennie smiled.

"so you sing while they play?" Seulgi asked, surprised of what Jennie said.

"uhm no, I just watch them and provide them whatever they need. I can also call Rosé if they have any questions." Jennie replied.

"what?? no way, you're actually doing all those for Rosie?" Seulgi said and Jennie just smiled.

"You should sing too, you know...you have a really nice voice, IU even mentioned that to me" Irene says and that surprised Jennie, she never really imagined herself singing infront of many people.

"I gotta agree, I never heard Jennie sing even once in my entire life." Jisoo says and frowned. Jennie started feeling shy because she never had the courage to sing to anyone, Lisa on the other hand seems to be an exception.

"uhm, guys it's band practice! I gotta go" Jennie excused herself and started gathering her things on the table.

"oh, well goodluck! we'll be helping Jisoo for the meantime" Seulgi says. "don't forget to smile!" Irene reminds and Jennie waved them goodbye with her usual smile.

Jennie's POV

I walked inside the music room and saw everyone praparing their stuff. Everyone has their own role and job but they need to work together to work their band magic.

"goodmorning, Jennie!"

"Goodmorning, Jen!"

"goodmorning!"

"wassup, Jen! I hope you had a good morning"

they all greeted me except Lisa, and I greeted them back one by one,

"good morning Lisa," I greeted Lisa while she was wiping her guitar squeaky clean.

"morning" she replied with total lack of interest. I just chuckled because she seems really drowsy, she probably didn't have her coffee this morning.

I did a head count and my eyebrows knitted when I realized that one member is missing.

"where's our keyboardist?" I asked them and they all shrugged except for jungkook who plays the drums.

"oh, you mean, Mina? I saw her running to the restroom on the way here" he says and I nodded she's probably gonna come back soon.

moments later, IU arrived and I greeted her with a hug, she's gonna be our vocalist today since Rosé is not here.

"uhm ji-eun unnie, I'll just excuse my self for a minute. I'll go check on Mina, she should have been here minutes ago."

"oh sure, me and the other will already start." she says and I nodded before leaving the room. I even saw Lisa glancing at me before I left but I didn't have the time to glance back at her because I was worried for Mina.

I entered the girl's restroom and my forehead creased when I started hearing sobs from one of the cubicles.

"Mina? are you there?" I asked and the sobs got softer.

"who's *sobs* there?" she asked, I immediately recognized her voice and in what cubicle she's in.

"It's Jennie, the band is finding you. what's wrong? did something happen?" I asked but there was no answer.

"Mina....it's alright, I'm here for you." I said in the most calm way. the door of the cubicle creaked open revealing Mina inside who's uniform is ruined with egg yolks.

"what happened?? who did this to you???" I asked pulling her out of the cubicle and grabbing a handkerchief from my pockets.

she started shaking her head as she sobbed, whoever did this to her is so mean and horrible. I didn't want to force her to say anything so I stopped asking her questions about it since she wouldn't answer anyways.

"let's get you cleaned up okay?" I told her and she nodded. She's looking a bit better now.

"I have a spare uniform in my locker, I'll just go grab it real quick." I told her and she nodded once more. I went to my locker as fast as I could and went back to Mina. She was washing off the yolks on her hair.

"here, go change up okay?" I told her and handed her the uniform and a paper bag. She went back inside the cubicle again and I waited for her to finish.

she opened the door holding the paperbag and with a smile on her face.

"thank you, Jennie..." she says and I just smiled back at her. "It's nothing, are you feeling okay now?"

"a lot better" she says and I nodded. We went walking back to the music room but I really wanted to ask her what happened so I did.

"it was the queen bee from the other faculty. She thinks that I was stealing her boyfriend from her but the thing is, I don't even know her boyfriend. he literally just asked me for directions and that brat ordered her minions to sabotage me at the cafeteria." she says.

"that's horrible, do you want to report this to the student council? I have a friend from there." I offered but she just shook her head.

"I don't want to cause anymore trouble, Jennie. I'll just let karma hit her. by the way, thank you for the uniform, I'll just return it back tomorrow so I could wash it." she says.

"oh...no need, just keep it. I don't usually take what I give away" I told her and she just returned a smile.

"you really are such an angel, Jennie. You're parents must be lucky to have you" she says but I just shook my head.

"not that much" I chuckled softly.

"we must go back now, the band needs you." I told her and we both went on our way to the music room.
