"Good morning, Mr. Chase. I'm sorry, I was debriefing Ms. Smith." George all but stuttered.

He had been caught.

The man shuffled into the living room, holding on to a pair of crutches as he walked. His leg and ankle were in a cast. He was disheveled but incredibly handsome, I could see his clear blue eyes from across the room.

He had wild and untamed blonde hair and was very fit. I watched his muscles move as he hobbled on the crutches over to the living room. His t-shirt was pulled tightly across his chest and I couldn't help but admire the sexy man who was now standing before me.

"See something you like, Nurse?" He asked with a wicked smile.

"I-I, uh..." I stumbled on my words.

"Whatever. Just stay out of my way." He grumbled and walked slowly back towards the kitchen.

He poured himself a drink and headed back to his room.

"You neglected to tell me he was a grump." I looked at George.

"He's not a bad guy, I assure you. Just give him some time. Check his injuries and make sure he's following all the doctor's orders. That's not hard." George smiled at me as he excused himself from the apartment.

I looked out of the peep hole and saw two armed guards standing outside the door. I was locked in with a man who didn't want me to be in his space and I couldn't leave.

I sat on the couch and turned the TV on. As I did, my stomach rumbled. I wasn't sure what, if anything was in the apartment. I decided to get up and check the kitchen. The fridge was full of all kinds of food. There was some fruit in the fridge that I had never seen before!

I picked a spikey-looking melon and found a knife. It cut easily and when I opened it there was a white fruit with black seeds. I grabbed a spoon and dug in. It was delicious. It was better than any fruit I had ever tasted.

I must have moaned because I heard a laugh from behind me.

"Mr. Chase! I'm sorry! I didn't know you were there." I jumped about ten feet.

"It's called dragon fruit." He said pointing to the melon.

"It's delicious. I've never tasted anything like it."

I could feel the blush creep up my face. Why was this man putting me so on edge?

"Enjoy it. It might be the last time you ever taste it. They are hard to grow. I don't think they can replicate it's growing conditions here."

"I'm so sorry! I should have asked first!" I cried.

He hobbled over to me on his crutches. I was backed against the wall and I looked up at him as he towered over me.

"Let's get this straight. You ask George to order your food and you don't eat mine. Don't touch my things. Stay out of my way and we will get along great." His blue eyes flamed as he continued to stand over me.

"I-I, ok." I mumbled and looked down.

I peered up.

He looked at me and slightly tilted his head. He seemed confused by my quick agreement to his rules. Great. Now he thinks he can walk all over me. I wondered if I failed this assignment if they would let me come back to the hospital. Not that I was going to let him drink or give him any medications that he shouldn't have but maybe he would tell them he wanted a different nurse.

When I looked up, he was gone. I wasn't sure how he left without making any noise.

I no longer had an appetite so I headed back over to the couch. I nodded out watching a home shopping show.
