I stayed very still as I concentrated on my science book. My long aurburn, bellybutton length hair fell on th book sitting in my lap for the thousandth time tonight which made me groan in frustration. I pushed it to the side as my seaweed green eyes looked over the genetic formula. I wasn't gripping the information like I usually did which made me more upset.
I sighed heavily in frustaration and stood up from my white antique desk for a stretch. I pulled my arms acrossed my chest and stretched those then over my head. I heard a satisfying crack of my moaning joints and then relaxed my shoulders once more. I shuffled my way to find my mother in our small apartment I call home. My baggy black sweat pants scrapped the floor softly while my white long sleeved shirt clung to my soccer fit body.
"Hey Mum?" I questioned seeing as i couldnt find her.
"Yes Hun?" My mom replied from the laundry room. I pattered my way over to her. She was folding a load of towels fresh out of the dryer as I walked in. I grabbed a warm towel and wrapped myself in it.
"Do you think I can take a break and go get a burger from Uncle Phil's?" I asked sweetly. The only reason I asked sweetly was beacause Uncle Phil's was about a ten block walk away and it was starting to get dark in New York City.
"Why do you want to go to your Uncle's diner now?" she said confused. I shrugged a little and folded the towel I had around me and placed it neatly on the towel stack.
"I haven't had super yet and I want a burger!." I said with a sweet smile. "Please mum," I added nicely.
"Alrgiht," she gave in. "Take the twenty in my purse and text me when you get there. No pit stops and stay away from alleys." she warned.
"Yes mum," I said with a nod. I went to my room to change into more presentable clothes before I left for my uncle's diner. I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of skinny jeans and a black zip up hoddie. I changed fairly quick; however, I was in no rush. I grabbed my phone and slipped it into my back pocket and pulled my hoodie on over my white shirt. I slipped on a pair of comfy tennis shoes and headed out with the twenty dollar in my phone case.
Walking along the busy side walks of New York City was quiet fun. Seeing all of the different kinds of people walk along is fasinating. I once saw a lady walking a poodle. However the poodle and her had a matching hair cut.
I continued along in my steady pace peacefully until I felt a pair of eyes on my back. Calmly i looked around but I didn't find anything unusual. I shrugged it off and continued walking. Normally I would call out someone or asking who was there but I decided not to arise anyones curiosity with false accusations.
I soon arrived at my uncle's diner. He has had this since before I was born although when I was born my mother would take me here constantly. Everyone here most likely knew me or knew of me from stories my uncle tells.
"Hey everybody!" I greated as I came into the diner. There were choruses of hello's, hey's and my name as greating back.
"Honour! Come here and give me a hug!" a regular at my uncle's diner said to me. His name was Frank and he has watched me grow up and I treated him like an uncle.
