Taehyung silenced Jungkook's phone when it started ringing and quickly swiped his thumb across the screen. "Hello, Mr. Wong. No, this is Kim Taehyung," he said in a low voice as he strode to the only window in the hospital room overlooking the parking lot. Nothing much to see except for the vast sky and array of vehicles, people bustling in and out.

"Yeah, we have met once. Something has come up," he cast a glance at Jungkook, who rested his head beside Jimin's while he ran his fingers through Jimin's hair. He had been in the same position for the past hour after the mild break down in the waiting room. Jungkook looked at Jimin as if he'd lose him if he glanced away. "Ah, JK can't take the call right now. I'm assisting him with the launch, so I can help."

He nodded and averted his gaze to look outside the window, his mind still racing. Taehyung continued to respond the call robotically and sighed when the call ended. This particular investor was a pain in the ass; he always wanted a verbal confirmation, triple checking on everything. A simple email wasn't enough.

Jimin was still asleep, his skin too pale. The day he met Jimin in the classroom suddenly popped in his memory. With chubby cheeks and a smile that made his eyes crinkle around the corners, Jimin had wormed his way into Taehyung's heart. Though he had so many friends, Jimin was special. They connected on a level unlike any other, complimenting each other's weirdness in a way only they could. His perfect other half, his soulmate.

When Taehyung burst into Jimin's office that morning, his heart almost stopped on seeing Jimin on the floor. Jungkook was cradling him, crying hysterically as he tried to wipe off the blood from his nose.

"Hyung..." That was the only word Jungkook could muster and he pointed Jimin's phone looking between Jimin and Tae.

"What happened?" He had to shake Jungkook several times to bring him out of his stupor.

"C-call..." Jungkook stuttered. "He wanted me to call someone."

Without further thought, Taehyung had unlocked Jimin's phone and checked the speed dial to see Dr. Seokjin's contact. He called and thankfully, Jin had sent an ambulance and instructed them what to do. They had followed his advice to stop the nosebleed before hurrying to the hospital.

Tears stung his eyes at the thought of Jimin getting hurt. All these years Jimin was searching for them, even with the worst case of memory loss. He bit the inside of his cheeks to suppress the sob that wanted out. He couldn't risk crying in front of Jungkook. The youngest had just composed himself.

After their conversation with Dr. Seokjin, Jungkook had broken down saying it was his fault.

"I didn't give him a chance to explain. I was quick to judge," Jungkook had cried. "If I wasn't being an asshole and kicked him out the apartment none of this would have happened."

Taehyung didn't know how to comfort the youngest. He was there when it happened and had witnessed it all. It was Jungkook's birthday and the youngest was too excited because he was planning to propose. He had matching rings and a surprise party with just the three of them. But Jimin never came.

"Jimin-ah, what the fuck do you think you're doing? You know it's Jungkook's birthday today."

"Taehyungie, I know. I'm going to leave now. I'll be there before nine, I promise."

"You better be here, Minnie."

"Are you joking? I'll never miss his birthday for anything in this world." Jimin laughed airily. "I need to pick something up on the way."

"What are you not telling me?"

Jimin laughed again. "It's a surprise."

"Minnie..." Taehyung whined. "When did you start hiding things from me?"
