The Monday or the days following that weren't easy for Jimin—not even the slightest. He couldn't meet Jungkook's gaze and to his relief, the youngest had given him the much-needed space. Well, not like he had time anyway.
Jungkook's schedule had gotten tighter and he was mostly out of the office with Taehyung, both sharing work. Jimin accompanied him for a few important ones, for the rest Jungkook had said he will manage, allowing Jimin to handle his other responsibilities in the office.
While Jimin was thankful for space, thankful that it had given enough time to compose himself, he also couldn't help the way he felt. He wanted to talk to Jungkook and clear the air. But he didn't know how to do that. Well, he didn't have an explanation for his actions. He didn't have answers to questions the youngest might have.
Jimin realized the present situation was unfair to him considering he didn't remember any of it. As Katy said, he could only hope to move forward and work to earn Jungkook's forgiveness and possibly make himself worthy for his love—if that was even possible. Everything about the situation screamed disaster. But he told himself he deserved whatever Jungkook would do to him. He'd accept any pain the youngest would inflict. He thought he deserved that for cheating.
He knew he had a choice to put the past behind him and look forward to a life without any of this drama. He had an option to walk away. It should have been easier. Jimin had enough time to think through and knew that Jungkook had grown in his mind during the short time they spend together. Their time in Japan had cemented his innate desire. Unknown to him, he had taken a liking to the youngest and the kiss on the rooftop was a wakeup call. It proved that his actions to Jungkook weren't just because he cared for him as a boss.
However, realizing it was one thing and acting on it was different. No matter what Katy or Jin said, he couldn't bring himself to forgive him. He still couldn't believe that he would do something like that. What happened to his morals? Was the old Jimin an asshole? How did Jungkook even fall in love with that one?
Every question in his mind was answered with another question. When he sensed the mounting headache, he shoved the thought aside and focused on the work in hand. His phone vibrated with a message.
Unknown number: Hey
Jimin frowned. Who was it?
Unknown number: I missed you so much.
He stared at the number. Did he know them? Maybe wrong number.
Unknown number: Can we meet for dinner? I have a lot to talk with you.
Jimin: Who's this?
Unknown number: Oh, sorry. It's me. Eunji.
Eun— How the fuck did she get his number?
Jimin: I don't remember sharing my number with you.
Unknown number: I have my ways. Jimin, I really need to talk to you.
Jimin: There's nothing to talk about.
What does that woman want now? Disgust stirred in the pit of his stomach. He already had enough problems. He could do much better without a reminder hanging over his head like a sword. What did the old Jimin see in her anyway? That guy was an asshole with the worst taste, he decided. Who in their sane mind would want to look at another man or woman when they had a whole package in their palm of the hand called Jungkook? Without another thought, he blocked her number and threw the phone across his table.
The day couldn't end sooner. Staying home this weekend while sulking sounded like a better plan. Two more hours before he can call it a day. He rubbed his temples, slightly jumping when his desk phone rang.
