The Crying Joke (Chapter 4)

"So, I've always wondered, does anything make Akitaru tick?"

"I'm wondering that as well."

You and Shinra both whisper to each other while you did some office work.

Arthur: What are you two talking about?

Y/N: Just some important stuff about the kingdom.

Arthur: Mm-hm.

*What you actually said...*

Y/N: Important company stuff.

-After the paperwork-

You watch as Shinra tests out the weapon.

Shinra: So this is the Type 7 huh?

Y/N: Really cool huh?

Shinra: Cool? It's amazing!

He looks at the fire-axe he fired from.

Takehisa: The Type 7 Fire-Fighting Axe, It's a durable melee weapon that can also fire a sacred spike from the head at range.

Arthur interrupts.

Arthur: I have no need for a fire-axe. Excalibur is the only weapon I wield.

Takehisa: Right, your plasma cutter. By heating your flame into plasma and emitting it from that blade-less hilt of yours, you create a super-heated ultra dense sword.

Akitaru: Yeah, fair point, you pyrokinectics might not need tools like fire-axes.

Arthur proudly sighs.

Akitaru: But every time I deploy, I gotta equip over 30 kilos of gear. Then there's the issue of maintaining it all. It sure could be helpful if we could hurry it up and hire an engineer, might take some pressure off of the Lieutenant.

Takehisa: For the record, Captain I don't actually mind this work.

Y/N: You should've seen the improvement we made to the windows. Yeesh was that dirty.

The alarm rings once again.

Huh. Wonder what's going on right now.

Maki comes rushing in as she informs the rest about the Infernal.

Maki: Another Infernal at Taito Ward, Iriya District! Sir!

She salutes.

Akitaru: Everyone,  ready up! We get ready in a minute!

-1 minute later-

Takehisa drives through the roads as you sit in the the back with Maki and Iris, as AKitaru addresses the situation.

Akitaru: This one was reported to be in a single family home. Odds are, we'll be putting them into rest in close quarters. Shinra.

Shinra looks up at Akitaru as he grabs something in his jacket.

Akitaru: You'll be pretty limited in how you can maneuver with your feet. Take the Type 7.

Shinra takes the Type 7 Fire-Axe.

Akitaru: All of you, keep the weapon inside your coats. Don't let them be seen by civilians.

The team arrives at the scene as you wait near the entrance.

Akitaru: Things seem to be a bit quiet around here. Considering that there's an Infernal inside...

You look back at the high-school girl.

???: First, Mama... Now Papa... How come? Am I going to be next?

She tries to comfort herself.

Y/N: Her mother... She turned Infernal 2 years ago. Right?
