Lucy's pov

"so how was the rest of your summer?" I asked looking to Toni, she looked from my schedule, "oh it was okay I guess not as much fun as it was at camp..." she said pushing me slightly, I couldn't help but smile, "you know I couldn't stop thinking about you after camp..." we stop I turn to face her, being as curious I am I wait for her to continue, she stepped closer, I held my breath waiting for her to speak, I watched as her lips parted waiting for her to speak again, and just as she was about to... " Ani... oh my god there you are, we were getting worried about u..." it was like she got jumped by a pack of savage wolfs, I took a step back and watched as the commotion of friendship unfold in front of me, I couldn't help but smile. She pushed her friends of her, "hey guys, so erm... about earlier..." she started but got interrupted by the shorter girl, "hey dude it's okay we can talk properly later, about it all..." she said pulling her into a hug, it looked like she whispered something into her ear but I couldn't tell what she said, "yeah dude, you still up for meeting after school... also here's your bag back..." the taller guy spoke as he handed her bag over, I looked between them, bouncing on each foot.

Toni looked to me and smiled, her smile just as I remember sweet and calming but mischievous at the same time, "oh guys before I forget..." she turns to me, "this is Lucy, she's new..." she turns and looks at her friends, the younger girl looks familiar but I can't remember her name, "oh my god, Lucy from summer camp..." that's where I know her from I mentally face palmed, and remembered it's the friend Toni hadn't come out too yet, "hey its, Emily... Ellie... sorry I don't remember your name..." I laughed nervously, "its Ellie, you almost remembered so it's cool..." she patted my shoulder, I smiled "hi my names James, I'm Toni's best friend, the handsome one, she's probable told you about me..." all I heard was a roar of laughter coming from the two girls beside me, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself, "well James, its lovely to meet you but I will have to disagree on the handsome one here..." I say winking to Toni, I see a blush rise in her cheeks, I smile and look to James, he looked shocked, he didn't get what I meant, "so who is then because I'm the only guy here, unless..." it looked like the penny had just dropped yep dude you're not my type, I couldn't help but join in with the laughter at what was happening.

The bell rings before anyone else could talk I turn to Toni to see where she was going, she looked at my schedule and looked back up, she pulled her shoulder bag up tighter, "you ready for your first lesson..." she asked I looked nervous, I think she could tell because she gave me a reassuring smile and nodded in the direction of English, we walk through the corridors in a comfortable silence but with the occasional words from James talking about what to have for lunch today and Toni or Ellie laughing at him, it seemed as if I had been here all along, I didn't think I would have fitted in so soon, but with these guys it's made it so much more easier, I see Toni stop meters from the class, "hey, you okay Toni?" I asked as I see her frozen with her face furious I looked in the direction she was staring, the girl looked like my brothers girlfriend but I was too far away to tell "oh that's Roxy, for some reason these two hate each other and normally they aren't in the same classes but guess that's changed..." oh great so the girl who I might have feelings for, is enemies with my brothers girlfriend.

She looked in our direction and spotted me, she starts to walk over, I could see Toni getting angrier with every step, "hey Lucy, I forgot you was starting today..." oh god please don't ruin this for me, Toni, James and Ellie all turn to me waiting for me to answer her, "I guess my brother told you then, where is he I haven't seen him yet..." I keep my view on Roxy not wanting to see the disappointment in Toni's face, oh god what must she be thinking, "so what are you doing with these three when you could be with me and your brother..." before I could speak Toni had spoken up, "well, Roxy I got asked by principle Jones to be her tour guide and help around today..." she spat out, which Roxy turned to her, with the usual smile on her face, she looked back to me, "oh honey, you don't have to be around this band of munchkin strangers, when you can be with me someone you know..." oh my god she's really going for it, before anyone could but in, "actually I do know them, I met them at summer camp..." I turn and give Toni a reassuring smile, "oh well, if you don't want to be with these people at lunch then come to the cool table, there will be a spare seat for you..." she turns and walks to the class, "yeah go back to wicked west..." I hear Toni whisper to herself; I turn to her with a smile plastered to my face.

We walked to class and I followed Toni to the teacher, she seemed really nice, I introduced myself to her and went and sat down next to Toni and her friends, "right class, we have a new student starting today her names Lucy, would be grateful if you could be nice any way, I would like you to get your text books out..." she went on telling us what to do but I got distracted by the girl beside me she was so concentrated with what she was doing, and her writing was so neat and beautiful, god I missed you to, and I couldn't stop thinking of you either, she looked up from her notebook and passed me a ripped bit of paper from her book.

"Hey, just curios on how you know Roxy? :O" I read the note and smirk, I knew she would ask me that, I started to write back, "she's dating my brother ☹ unfortunately" I pass the paper back making sure the teacher didn't see, I couldn't see what she was writing but it seemed a lot, I don't know what came over me, I started to panic, over thinking the situation, but the paper returned, I looked up and she had a smile on her face, "you brother is brad, the "star quarterback" :'O" I looked up to see she was writing in her notebook, "yes he is, they are so annoying together" I pass the paper back, I turn to my work and start with the questions that where on the bored about Shakespeare, the bit of paper came back, I open it up "so, I see you don't like her very much either, I guess we have another thing in common ;D" I couldn't help but laugh, we carried on writing notes through the lesson without getting caught by the time the bell rang.

I gathered my things when I turned and saw Toni had left the classroom, I hurry out the door to see her standing with her friends at her locker, "hey you left without me..." I say as I reached them, "no I needed to go to my locker and I knew you would have seen me.." she said with a smirk "oh so you wasn't going to leave after you had finished to get to the next class.." I say copying the smirk, "no I wouldn't have, because if I did, I would be walking alone... and I... like your company..." she said stepping closer to me, with that smile again, she grabs my hand and pulls me down the corridor and stops I almost bumped into her, she let go of my hand I let out a groan of frustration from the lack of contact with her hand "right here is your locker, 5 down from me..." she said with a smile, she puts my code into the lock and opens it for me, "thank you, I could have done it by myself you know..." I say with a smile as I start to put what I don't need in there, "but I was being a gentle-women..." she said with a wink.

I cannot believe that 3 months ago she was a closeted, shy gay but now she is out to her friends, she is more confident, flirtatious gay, and I cannot deny I am liking her newfound confidence. I smile shutting my locker, as we head of to our next class, "you know what you said earlier..." I asked, she looked at me "which part, I've talked to you about a lot of things today" she said with a smile, this was it I'm going to tell her that she was all I thought about after camp, her, the kiss, the holding hands, the sneaking around at night, everything about the camp with her was amazing, "I didn't stop thinking about you either, Toni..." I look forward not wanting to see her reaction, we turn the corner to our next lesson, "oh that bit..." she laughed nervously, "I would have gotten in contact after but you didn't give me your number..." she continued, I laughed "neither did you...", we got to the next class which it felt like it went on forever, it was just history nothing to exciting, the bell went signalling It was lunch, god I was starving I saw that Toni was lent against her desk waiting for me, " I see you're waiting for me..." smile as I put my bag on over my shoulder, she looked up from her hands "of course I need a buddy for the line..." she laughs as she starts to walk to the door, "you coming, because I'm starving..." she walked out the door, I picked up my phone and ran out the door.
